I too have a high arch and am very comfortable in a four-inch heel. I do have one five-inch sandal that I save for when entertaining and in my prosthetic leg. The shoe is no problem, but the pros becomes uncomfortable and I have to remove it. E

These pumps formerly were called "Carrie", and I have them in several colors.
They are very sleek and super feminine in my opinon; besides comfortable as
I can wear it all day and often into the evening. I do receive many positive
compliments.

I did not care for plats when they first appeared. They looked very bulky and definitely non-feminine; like the platform was a second-thought add on. Then plats had a more sleek appearence and are blended so the delineation between sole and platform is not noticeable and with a slim heel. Personally, I do very well in a 6½ heel and 2¼ platform. That is not to say that I don't care for a 4 classic pump with stiletto heel and pointed toe. I have not pitched any of these and still purchase them, and now have 4 or 5 plats in my closet. In short, I wear both styles mentioned above with no height related problems. E

the front part of the heel. On crutches i tend to ste out farther and the heel bends so the fron wears more than the back or the heel itself E

That would be about $65.00 US which is not very expensive. But for hand-made, it sounds a little low. But again, if made to order, I would like to see if I can buy only one. Being of a curious nature, I might order them, or one if possible E

My friends and work staff are very supportive of my wearing "a" heel as I am
able to wear only one and use crutches.
However , I am the recipiant of negative looks and comments, mostly from
senior citizens and especially when I am at a medical building.

I travel a good bit on business and routinely wear a four-inch stiletto with no problems at all. A great majority of my destinations have jetbridges or use external stairs with height and pitch just like stairs at home. At very few smaller airports boarding is via self-contained airstairs and it I don't feel confident using them in one heel and on crutches, I slip out of my shoe and hand it to the rep that is assisting me in boarding or toss it up to the flight attendant. I don't think that I would call it a committment to fashion, but more of exercising my personal preference in footwear. E

It was a girls night out and we were at an intimate apparel shop. Istill had my leg and it was in
a very long cast. One girl dared me to wear a stripper sandal with a platform and very high
heel on my good foot. The entire story is in here, but my point is that it was very comfy and
easy to walk in especially since I was on crutches.

Pointed toe pump with a four-inch stiletto heel, just like the comments above. Very sleek and super feminine. E

Might be just the aswer to my concerns about business trips up north
during winter. They claim that it is somewhat non-slip, and the
modest platform is good for keeping my foot dry when walking in
puddles.

I agree with the comment above from Shafted. I always shoe shop in a heel. On two seperate occasions I wore a flat; in jeans and a sperry boat shoe, and once in a skirt and ballerina flat. I picked up a heel from a disipaly and asked if I could try it in my size. The clerks, both male, commented that a four-inch heel that I wanted to try would be dangerous andwere somewhat hesitant to comply. I didn't feel like arguing and turned a 180º and headed out. A few days later, I strolled into the store in a four-inch mule. "I found this shoe at Nieman-Marcus and love it," I said as I held my foot in the mule up for him to see. What did I accomplish by returning to the store? Nothing! But deep down inside I felt good ad accomplished. E

Take a walk with me! I will be in my usual four-inch stiletto, you can choose the style from a pointed-toe pump to a very nude mule. I will use my crutches and possibly divert their attention as you stroll aside me unnoticed in your heels, but in total enjoyment.

Too fussy for my taste. Why does everyone think that a "designer" shoe has to have lots of bows and gem stones on?
I agree, too much stuff hanging off of them.

Speaking only for myself, I think that this site is what each of us individualy considers it to be. I present my views on most subjects from a different prospective. I know that some, probably most perceive my views to be from someone who has a deep attraction, or passion for heels - in my case "a" heel. And others find it to be sensuous. I have experienced both over time as I journey through each day in a heel of most any style. E

I have to agree with Amanda. I never cared for wedges mainly because they looked bulky whereas a stiletto heel is sleek and very feminine. But lately, wedges are higher which tends to reduce the bulkieness and I love how some are shaped just like a stiletto heel.

I'm not sure that I feel "cocky," more like accomplished and daring as I move about in one heel with crutches; something that the medical experts frown on. For me, its on the order of "I'll show you," and I love it. E

And my welcome as well. E

High Arches. Easier To Wear Heels?
in For Everybody

In addition to what I said previously, my instep, the top of my foot opposite my arch is relativiely high. It really isnt a problem, except if I wear a penny-loafer, it is very difficult to get my foot in without using a shoe horn. E
