londonpaul Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 is it just me or are his shoes basically a load of old rubbish. the emperors new shoes as it where? I have rarely seen a half decent looking pair. why is everyone so obsessed with them?
Bubba136 Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Like Prada, they're very expensive. Style wise, I don't find them attractive (too "avant-garde" for my taste). However, like a Alfa Romao automobiles and clothing by famious designers, they're a status symbol. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Dr. Shoe Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree. It is fair to say that his latest offerings do not do this great man justice but generally he is the master of the elegant high heel. As a student, I often went down to his Chelsea shop just to peer in through the window at all those sexy sandals and skinny stilettos! Dr. Shoe Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 <img src="http://pix.auctiva.com/pix/05/05/49/denimblahnik1.jpg>" Oh blow! How's it done again? These are a cracking pair of Blahniks though! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Trolldeg Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 I've seen perhaps one or two pairs of his shoes that look good. he usually makes a misstake with symmetry; toes too long/heels to short...
Dr. Shoe Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 He does precede fashion by a couple of years. He was doing pointy toes in 1996 so perhaps the "wrong symmetry" might be fashion in say 2 years or so? Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Trolldeg Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 it seems to be the fashion everywhere right now. ugly shoes where ever you look.
Laurieheels Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 I've been seeing ugly shoes in the stores for years. I don't see how it's a current fashion trend.
Yamyam Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 Actually, I quite liked those boots. Nice all round, I think. I might even wear something like that myself, with blue jeans. Obsessed is such a strong word. I prefer to think of myself as "differently enthusiastic"
Sandalslover Posted January 27, 2003 Posted January 27, 2003 :x Came here to read the article but nobody refers to it....whre is it? where can I get it to read?
