Watch out for heat damage to your footwear!

Attached is a very sad story that is somewhat self-explanatory. These vintage size US 12 Frederick's of Hollywood (real) patent leather boots, 5 1/4" metal heel were in the closet in Florida. They had already had a little bit of cracking when I got them three years ago, but look at the intense damage from the heat!

As that is only a part time home, the air conditioning system only kicks when it is over 85 degrees F.

Another caveat is for PVC - when it is hot, the color can stain an adjacent pair.

Words to the wise - watch out for the heat with your footwear collection or you'll be very sorry!

It's all about the heel!

Bootking... Thank you for this post and useful advise. I put a pair of patent leather pumps in an outdoor storage unit years ago and they were ruined because of the extreme summer heat in our area. Be kind to your high heels!
