Zinkhink Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I received this email trough one of the Yahoo Groups that I am a member of: "According to Reuters, a High heel race was held in Moscow this Saturday July 28th. The required minimum heel height was 9 cm. Similar events also took place in St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Samara, and the winner in Moscow was the Muscovite Maria Kanarova." Follow this link to a videoclip on Reuters homepage: http://www.reuters.com/news/video/videoStory?videoId=62040
sendra45 Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 a group of women in high heels running toward me, what a vision. thanks for that! The angels have the phonebox.
LiQuick Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Glamour Magazine is organizing these kind of races all over the world! In the Netherlands they already had there second run this year. Some photo's and a movie on this page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/quintus/sets/72057594078357319/
Elegant Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Glamour stilletto race? UGH! I know a Polish street-heeler who's much more emancipated than me [he wears stillettos and skirts]. He attended the event, complied with all conditions, but wasn't allowed to participate because he's male. The rules didn't clearly state that only women can take part in the run, though. Anyway, the race was won by a CD, who was probably "well-done"- paradoxical, eh? What is good for a goose, can be good for any gender!
LiQuick Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Glamour stilletto race? ...but wasn't allowed to participate because he's male... Same here in the Netherlands, but they explicitly stated it in the rules.
johnieheel Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Same here in the Netherlands, but they explicitly stated it in the rules. So maby they should creat a high heel race for men only. real men wear heels
LiQuick Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 So maby they should creat a high heel race for men only. Dutch are quite open for new things, but some things just stay in the (shoe) closet. But we can only hope (and if, I'll be the one crossing the finish line first ).
