Not that I am married, but I always wonder under the long dress and petticoats how high are her heels? I would be interested in hearing people stories of what shoes they were wearing on their wedding day. White heels or something more interesting?

I disagree. I think black shoes go with anything. White is only traditional because of it's association with virginity. Let's face it, most people who get married are not virgins so why pretend

As for wedding photos or scenes, I find them frustrating as the dresses usually hide the shoes. I don't reckon most brides wear big heels anyway, the best shoes are usually to be found among the wedding guests.

As a maid of honur for my mother, five inch heels. I should post that picture soon, now that I have it at home. I would hope I am wearing five inch heels on my wedding day, let's put it that way.

The last wedding I went to was a year ago and I wore 4 1/2 boots and a grey suit with a purple shirt. If I ever get married I'll definitely be wearing heels as the groom.

i don't think the height should matter for either the brides maids, the bride or any guests. as long as they can walk gracefully in them. but you may wear a lower heel during the wedding and then switch to a higher heel for the reception or vice versa,as long as they are the same color and type. my s/o has worn 41/2 " heels for the wedding and then later changed to a lower heel for dancing.

patent leather and classic high heel pumps area.

Some of us are addicted to high heels, and going lower causes withdrawl. My goal is to wear five inch heels through anything and everything, so I am hoping I can just wear them all day, provided the right man comes along one day and actually asks me. In the end, it is about what works best for the bride, and every bride is different.

Just attended a wedding dinner last sunday. The bride wore 2" white pumps. How boring ! I wore 4" sandals that day. Wasn't my intention to outshine the bride. Lucky I did not grab the attention away from the newly weds.

Nata, what's wrong with giving the bride a bit of competition? It's her own fault for wearing such low heels. Many of us are quite the competition in any situation, and it's all because we are self expressive when the rest of the world hides from how they feel. _________________ I have to be me. Went to my friend's wedding a few weeks ago and wore my black & white 5½" courts. As for height for the bride though, it depends on the person. Debbie

i think so long as the bride isnt wearing such outrageous heels that she trips and falls in the isle it shouldnt really matter....that would be quite embarassing if you fell

It would be quite the cause for a red face, but then, the bride is escorted down the aisle in most cases, and then her husband will escort her out. With someone to hold onto each trip, I think a woman can run the risk of some higher heels...

The bride's gown will partially cover her shoes. So the main focus will be on her gown instead. I was wearing wearing a short skirt. so my shoes will also be very obvious. That is why I was glad that I didn't steal the limelight from the bride.

I think I would like to try 6in white heels for the church bit, as you same you are going to pretty much held up and assisted in walking and then maybe reduce to 5.5/5in in the evening.

The bride is going to wear what she is used to. Not many women are used to 4"+ so it's no wonder they are going to stick with lower ones.

I agree, it depends what you are comfortable with. There is little point in looking clumsy if you are not used to wearing heels. As Firefox said, she wouldn't want to fall over  Debbie

Personally, I think it is important to keep your husband to be as happy as possible. Therefore if he likes higher heels, this is a sacrifice we should be prepared to make (in terms of a little dis-comfort etc). Generally, I think something understated but sexy is the way forward.

I wore white panty hose with seams, white corset & thong and Samantha was my Maid of Honour. How long did I keep the Heels on? 8 1/2 hours :( ! Thank GOD for Ambesol!
