xaphod Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Anyone have any idea why the board keeled over ?
Tom-NL Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I bet Jeff has My guess (based on the error messages I have seen): there was a problem with the file that contains the members list. Although I have seen another explanation being offered over at FF's board: a worm that targets php boards (see this post ) by dr1819.
Dawn HH Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Yes---we're back. Thanks, Jeff. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

Although I have seen another explanation being offered over at FF's board: a worm that targets php boards (see this post ) by dr1819. Hi, Tom - thanks for the link. Since I posted it there, I'll post it here: "It's a hack, folks. A worm. phpBB has been very prone to these for years. "Try vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com). "VASTLY superior!!! And as mentioned in a previous e-mail, I'll pay for the first year." I'm serious. The first year's worth of vbulletin is on me, should the webmasters/owners choose that route (and no, I don't get any kickbacks of any kind).
