HighHeel Progress - Encouraging Observations

Here's two of my recent encouraging observations: 1. Two years ago my jazz band backed a well-known British lady jazz singer aged about forty-something. She turned up in a brand new pair of leopard-skin boots with 4" stiletto heels, explained to us at the end of the concert that the steepness caused by the heel-height was pitching her feet forwards into the toe-box causing "toe burn" and terrible discomfort. Despite each of us musicians saying that they looked fantastic, we fully expected at this week's return concert that she would turn up in lower heels. Imagine my surprise and delight when she re-appeared this time wearing black suede boots with 4 1/2" heels! No more talk of pitching forward or "toe burn" so presumably she's persevered in sexy heels and become aclimatised to going higher still, rather than lower! great, eh? 2. Our Bristol neighbours are a group of seven female university students aged about nineteen. They have already completed one year of study, and throughout that year virtually all of their shoes were dead FEEBLE! Even the most "daring" girl only had one pair of 2 1/2" wedge heels! However, they obviously noticed what all of Bristol's hard core pubbers and clubbers were wearing on Friday and Saturday nights, because this year they've seen the light. Having returned from their summer holiday break, all seven of them are now equipped with proper high heels. Nowadays when they go out socialising, even the meekest one is wearing 3 1/2" slim heels, and the others have gone to 4" or over, mostly super stilettos! Howzabout that then? Can any of you report any similarly encouraging observations of other people's progress into higher heels? Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Jazz band, huh! Heelfan? Perhaps you can entice AnitaC into traveling to the U.K. and performing a couple of sets with you guys. Now, you know she would attract a very admiring crowd becuse she wears the highest heels of all. And, she might even get her friend, Sam, to accompany her on the trip. :-?

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Hello Bubba, Yes, I run and play double bass in my three jazz bands - a piano/bass/drums trio, a six-piece band with a trumpet/sax/trombone front-line, and my 16-piece big band which does all the Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Buddy Rich stuff. Dr. Shoe and Ruth recently came to one of my Big Bands Concerts when we appeared in London. Anita C. and I have swapped a few enjoyable PMs on jazz topics, but so far no joy in tempting her to appear over here in the UK as our guest singer. We've had well-known America jazz stars over hear to perform with us - trumpeter Art Farmer. Sax player Scott Hamilton, trumpeter Ruby Braff etc., and recently Australia's Danny Moss. However, sadly Anita hasn't taken me up on my long-standing invitation. Wouldn't it be great! Mind you, how could I possibly concentrate on my double bass playing with her 5" or 6" stiletto heels strutting and swaying away in time with the music just in front of me! Maybe I should repeat the invitation! In fact yes, I will! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Yeah lets have a HH Place jazz combo doing some numbers just for us HH fans here. A combined heelmeet and concert sounds great :-?
