jo Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 United Shoes near me has a very wide range of stuff; from standard day wear, to the unusual, and the exotic. Mules, sandals, pumps, ankle and long boots, etc, and a range of platform "stripper shoes". Loads of stuff, mostly UK size 3 to 8 or 9, and some shoes in bigger sizes (not many).
Dr. Shoe Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 So he said (This is the "story" thread isn't it?) Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Yamyam Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 "no, it isn't" (Wow, I'm on top form tonight ) Obsessed is such a strong word. I prefer to think of myself as "differently enthusiastic"
squirrelheels Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Yay! Not one far from me... must pay that place a visit with my newly found female friend (who likes my heels, and wears them herself!)... Actually she's a friend I know from when we were 8 (and younger), but haven't spoken in years... Looks like things could take off! Anyways, yes, must pay that place a visit when I have some muhuney... SH Hi! I'm a signature virus! Copy me into your sig and help me spread!
jo Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 I bought a pair of their GBP 25.00 Stiletto brand shoes with 7 inch heels and 2 inch platforms, for GBP 9.99, in their sale a few years ago. They sell a lot of those, and have stocked them for years and years now. A lot of the girls from Spearmint Rhino buy them, though you often see 10 to 15 year old kids trying them on. Last time I was in, a group of 11 year girls all bought a pair each and walked out of the shop in them. Saw them again a few hours later, and they were all struggling! Now, I just got a pair of black, pointy toe, ankle boots, UK size 7, side zip, and 4.75 inch very thin triangular heel. Not a strong heel, so probably indoor only for now. Were GBP 30.00 for a short while, and then on sale at GBP 20.00 for many months. Not a quick seller, but they were down to the last two pairs in each of UK sizes 5, 6 and 7. The size 3 and 4 all went long ago. I think there may, in the beginning, have been a very low number of UK size 8 as well. SH: Nearly all their shoes are under 30 quid or so. They always have a corner of the shop with things on sale, as well, so it pays to look in at least once every couple of months (or every week if you prefer).
squirrelheels Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 Let me rephrase that... She likes me wearing heels, and wears her own heels too! I'll definitely take a look sometime. Will require catching a bus I've never caught before, and wandering around an unknown area... but hey, it's all worth it for shoes! And I'm sure my friend will be amenable! SH Hi!
