 Kent has been (Literally) Shanghai'd. I would think there are worse places to be stuck (try Lagos, Nigeria, for instance)

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

I am all for a NYC Meeting.

Any old timers out there who could help us organize? (Firefox?)

We just need to get started. Where will we meet? What will we do for a few hours? Does anybody know the best shopping areas?

And a friendly place for lunch and maybe drinks at the end of the day?

Hello all budding New York Heel-Meeters! This is how to do it: We've long had successful regular Heel-Meets in the U.K., but lately I'm delighted to read that members from New York are keen to organise a Heel-Meet. There is so much potential fun to be had! Having set up the last few Heel-Meets in the UK, can I give you all a few tips based on my own experience: First, one of you must take a positive lead and decide for yourself what you think is a great plan, and think positive by publishing it on this thread. People rally round much more if you post something really positive (place, date, time etc.) to start with. Then start a new thread here in Real Life Meetings entitled "HEEL-MEET, ... (town)... , .....(country)..., ....(date)...." In your thread, give the following headings and information: MEETING PLACE Maybe a soda or coffee bar. Choose one which is near places of great interest to heelers - like a high heel specialist shop or a good concentration of shoe shops, restaurants and places of interest. DATE Publish a date that gives everyone reasonable notice. In the UK, Saturdays are best for maximum attendance and the shops being open, so maybe the US is similar? MEETING TIME Publish a meeting time (say 10 am) and suggest an approximate itinerary (timetable) for the day, including whether the Heel-Meet includes an evening meal and any evening activity or not. WELCOME It helps to say that all guys and gals are welcome, and that although heel-wearing is nice, it is not compulsory! RESPONSE Ask all those interested in attending to respond by posting in your thread. Additionally, why not click on to the Membership List (top of page) and scroll through it to note-down all the members in New York State and maybe neighbouring states too, and send them all a standard PM inviting them to the Heel-Meet, and referring them to your Heel-Meet thread here under "Real Life Meetings" and asking them to post their response thereon. I hope this is helpful. It would be great to hear that worldwide Heel-Meets are successfully taking place! Cheerfully Yours, Heelfan

Onwards and upwards!

Halloween is coming up and looks like a good opportunity to meet, maybe go to some bar in the village! We have a few weeks to organize the outing, so would anyone be interested? Pam

Great! This is Heelfan (UK) wishing you New Yorkers well. However, for your meet to succeed, one of you now needs to immediately plunge in and post: DAY MEETING TIME MEETING PLACE It won't happen unless one of you thinks positive and promptly lays down those three essentials as urgently as possible. Good luck! (Our next London one is on 7th Nov) and HAPPY STREET-HEELING! Hands across the sea! No - HEELS across the sea! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Onwards and upwards!
