While exploring the wilds of Canada, Shafted was captured by hostile wood fairies.

Dr. Shoe the powerful chief of the fairies told him he could make one final statement which would determine how he would die.

If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water.

If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil.

Shafted found neither of these options to his liking so he made a statement that got him out of this seemingly impossible situation.

What is the one statement he could havenmade?

This reminds me of a statement made by a judge, he said there is no question that cannot be answered by a yes or no. The defendant said have you stopped beating your wife yet. I will think on with the riddle.

I'm doomed.

No, your not ;)

You shall live and strut your boots only if someone on here comes up with what you said ;)

He said 'I'm a liar,' thereby leaving them unable to tell whether he was telling the truth or not, so unable to choose the method of death.  I know someone who doesn't read his messages!

Megan is close, but he can be truthful about his lying. What he said is "I will be boiled in water"

YEP!

Shafted said: "You will boil me in water." Dr. Shoe would be faced with a dilemma. If she boiled him in water, that would make his statement true which means he should have been fried in oil. She can only fry him in oil if he makes a true statement.

Long live Shafted!
