meeny Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I've been away a while, so my old thread got locked. I sorta cycle in and out of projects like a comets orbit. Here's the last of my angel series, the theme being a "good death." The idea was one of comfort at the end of a well-lived life. Death is sometimes referred to the other side of the veil, so the angel is lifting the veil as the act of transitioning the soul. Pata was very gracious to me in encouraging my work, so all thanks to her! Next is a fashion image that was inspired by the Andy Warhol museum, although for the life of me I cannot remember how: And finally there is another fashion/fetishish portrait inspired by a number of sources. I don't often think of brown and black as a pleasant combination, but after some study I see it works pretty well.

Foxyheels Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 These are brilliant, just love them. High heels are the shoes I choose to put on, respect my choice as I repect yours.
FreshinHeels Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 very nice In the process of becoming the person I always was...but didn't dare to let her come out
AZShoeNut Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I really like your illustrations. Thank you for sharing them. Life is short... Wear the bleeping shoes!
SleekHeels Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Fantastic, I especially love the faces in all of them, they bring the sensuality of each image to life. Thanks. If you like it, wear it.
meeny Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 A holiday card. The shoes are Dolce & Gabanna pumps—love the heel. The woman is based of a photo of greta Garbo. The car is the equivalent of a 1930 bat mobile.
Shafted Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I have to ask. Are you a professional CG artist. I'm kinda seeing you as the Norman Rockwell of high heels. I do like what I'm seeing. meeny Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 I'm an Illustrator and all-round image maker by trade. The thing I seem to working through includes heels, but it's much more about a complete femininity. Think Hollywood stars of the 30s and 40s and I'm trying to present that vibe in a current visual idiom.
Bubba136 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I love your work. Very talented. Please keep posting. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
nerol69 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 absolutely stunning, this is the first time i have seen your artistry, but WOW. what would be even more amazing is to have a framed print to adorn a wall of my home. A new fan has been hooked.
meeny Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Got a Wacom tablet for Christmas, and have been learning how to draw... again. This is a study from a composite from three photos. The model is Tarja Turunen—formerly of Nightwise The boots are my own creation—going for a victorian feel with a little juice added.
Guest Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I looked up Tarja as there seemed something you were conveying across also seeing both original and the the illustration can build further aspects. Nice rendition of her and a picture to be proud of. Seeing some of her earlier media pictures (I think 2010/11) a couple of poses give a similar feel to the cover of Apocalypticas 7th Symphony. However I cannot find any credits to who she is or the graphic house? Keep up the beautiful work. Al
meeny Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 The latest study—thinking of the oriental custom of foot binding (ick) and went to the ballet heel as a way to minimize the foot. Am starting to wrestle with the play of light on finish. Photography makes it look so easy!
