Towards the strip you can expect to see cumulus sneakers beneath everything from sun skirts to shorts and jeans, with light low to mid heels appearing by mid-afternoon. This evening that should be changing, especially inside the more opulent casinos, where you'll find altocumulus heels of a variety of shapes and sizes, generally growing darker and building into cirrocumulus heights by later this evening, often covered by black wispy leggings and skirts. By early tomorrow morning the towering heels will once again be replaced by cumulus sneakers... Bottom line, if you want to see thousands and thousands of awesome-looking women in high heels for hours on end, while wearing your own (even us guys), come to Vegas and visit (you don't have to stay there) one or more of the more opulent and newer casino-hotels towards the South end of the strip. The other was more of a warehouse scene, with boxes stacked all over the floor with shoes on top showing the styles, and the walls full of shoes. The point is this: I saw few heels on the street, but there were many young girls in the stores trying on and buying platform stiletto heeled sandals (fetish type) from 6 to 8+ inches high! And I overheard a family window shopping, with the kids and mother saying they really liked the neon colored stiletto platforms! Didn't see any men shopping, though, except for me! Local women seems to wear highheels everywhere they go. During couple of days I spotted huge amount of pumps, ankle boots, calf high boots, kneehigh boots, even some tighthigh boots. All with wide variety of heel shapes and heights. Women seem to dress up very nicely where ever they go, and having high heels looks like to be mandatory for them. If you have a chance go there, be carefull not to break your neck becouse you hear "click click" sound everywhere... Competition is high in this area amongst the girls. Stilettos and blades are in, ranging from 3-5". The higher heels come out to date me because I'm tall. Probably also, because I make references to girls with "little" heels at times. Anyhow, this place rocks if you want to see hot younger girls dressed sexy and in heels. I had to do some shopping over the weekend and did some more today to take advantage of a day off from work. The weekend was not much to talk about. Many of the sneaker-wearing power shoppers were out. There were a few heel sightings, but most were with the sales ladies who were wearing blade heels for the most part. Today was another story! Many heel wearers were out among the shoppers this time. Many blade heels and a larger number of stilleto's this time around. Most of the stilletos were around 3" with a few that were higher. One pair of laides stood out though. They were oriental (northern chinese or korean) about in their 20's by my guess. Both were wearing stilleto boots. #1 had jeans down to her ankles with about a 3.5" heel. #2 had jeans that were rolled up past the ankles and her heels were easily 4.5" if not 5"! Both women were walking with no problems when I could spare a glance. As for the sales ladies, many were in boots with high blade heels or ones with a tapered heel. I have noticed to that many high heeled boots are now being sold with treads on the soles. It makes sense since it will help in bad weather situations. I was driving down Valentine Place in SE London when I passed a lady wearing the most awesome pair of shoes I have seen for a while. She was very smartly dressed in a black (if I remember) Chanel style suit with her hair up in a chignon. I reached my destination and I could see her coming in my mirrors so I deliberately delayed my dismount until she was close enough to get a good look. She was very good looking looked around 35 (though I sensed she was a bit older) in immaculate but not heavy make-up with nice neat stud type jewelled earrings, and she had an absolutely dazzling smile when I complimented her on her shoes. They were something else, they were D'orsay pumps with the narrowest counter that nearly qualified as a back strap except they were shaped being wider at the bottom than the top. The strap was almost a thong with the tiniest buckle. The vamp was pointy with just a hint of toe cleavage and the whole confection was set atop a 4.5-5" skinniest heel that was almost needle point. The shoe was black shiny leather (not patent) and the counter, strap and vamp were edged in a fine white piping. If she paid less than £300 for them, she got a bargain.
