Heelsman Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I am 79 years old and have been wearing heels on and off since I was 9. My wearing has been mostly private until the last few years. Now I like to take walks at night. It has been difficult to find high heels that fit and walk well. I have had the best luck recently with the Frye line of shoes and fashion boots. I remember photographs taken of my Grandmother and Great Grandmother wearing some platform sandals and pumps that were popular in the 1940s. Seems like women's fashions are cyclical because some of those fashion have resurfaced a couple of time since then. We are all looking forward to reading your comments and reflections on high heels over the years. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public. I admit I got a point I am curious to know more about your heeling experience. May I ask you what type of reaction you got from people when you first wore high heels in public ? I guess the reactions would have been quite negative since people may have been less "open minded" than today unless you were wearing your shoes only in private ? Happy heeling !
