  1. One of the reasons I have a difficult time posting photos, is because I'm so discriminating about the photo itself. I just can't shoot an iPhone pic of myself in a mirror. I'm a creative director at an ad agency and I hire photographers all the time, which makes me too picky. I have to pull out my DSLR, a tripod and set up delayed shutter -- it's just a lot of work. However, I"m going to shoot some more photos of my collection nonetheless. "Watch this space", as they say.

For me, it would absolutely be based on price alone. I actually kind of like most of his things, though there are precious few to choose from. None of the shoes or boots are hideous, unlike most designers' "men's" high heels collections. The bags are not all that exciting, but then, I'm not a Bag Guy. If anything, I can't really tell any difference between his half dozen shoes and boots and anybody else's, it's just that his go up to EU 46.

What I really want to know is where can I get a pair of pumps like he's wearing in the video posted above? I imagine they're Louboutins, not his own shoes.

Can somebody here, who's more up on luxury fashion identification, confirm the make and model of his pumps? The red sole suggests CL, but are they really? Whatever they are, I like them as well.

Rick is pretty avant-garde, but in those circles so many people really wear Rick Owens pieces that people have started getting tired of it lol.  Given the kind of cult following Rick has in designer male fashion, I think this hints that broader acceptance of men in heels is trending.

I like Dries Van Noten’s FW20 Collection too - belted blazers, tall lace-up boots, furs, broaches, evening gloves - seems like men’s fashion is finally beginning to not be so afraid of feminine association.

Van Noten showing a lot of platform boots as well.

For those interested, ETRO had a few New England style prep menswear looks with knee high riding boots

Knee high riding boots were also on Dolce and Gabbana

I like the knee-high riding boots. I've got 4-5, if I could just get around to shooting photos.

    fashionablefun,

Since I joined in 2009 I find it interesting you have lurked that long without posting photos. I say that as I find you seem to have exquisite taste indeed. The pumps do look tasteful with that the pants. What are the pants made of?? I've had more interest in wearing pups with something other than jeans. Again thanks for ending the posting drought and quenching our thirst for heel photos! HinH

I know -- I quit posting photos for a long time. I joined in 2004, started posting photos in 2006 (see FashionableFun Collection #1) and then quit until recently. I do enjoy fashion in general and have had a long interest in female footwear which I incorporate into mostly male attire, albeit very trendy. Although I wear heels with jeans, I think heels often look more appropriate with slacks. I look at what females wear their with heels for inspiration. I shop a lot at Zara, Uniglo, H&M, Forever21 and Urban Outfitters. I prefer these inexpensive options, because I tend to change styles quickly. I'll post some more photos. Thanks for the encouragement.

I love the look of  those Jessica Simpson pumps with the white pants! I have the same pair of pumps & may have to "borrow" this look. Would white pants be appropriate for winter wear or wait till spring?

The white pants outfit was actually inspired by a post (or a Pinterest collection) from @kneehighs

Harry Styles arguably one of the most in demand celebs of the moment

This pic used THREE times already on his insta

What more could we ask for?

    mic drop

P.S. I was at a London hotel party where Styles was sitting two tables away from me.  I was with a group of 3 girls.  My friends (3 girls) bullied the girls at the table between Harry and us out. It wasn’t a shouting match, but was pure emotional manipulation (I don’t approve FYI)  I’ve never seen such cut throat behavior for a guy.

Styles boot here is very similar to couple of mine, which I wear with complete abandon. (I'll try to post pix). They are very doable around family and friends. I note also his slightly flared slacks, which seem to be coming back again.

So I was invited to a party at 55 Irving Place tonight.  Drew Barrymore was hanging out there.  Met some girl whose dad is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs.  She too worked at Goldman.  Once she told me she lived in Hudson Yards (aka 5-6K/mo for a 1 bed room) I knew she was in another league.  She asked me if my Chanel brooch was real, lol.

My answer?  "Marc by Marc Jacobs top (real), Calvin Klein blazer (real), zara pants (real, lol) and Nine West shoes" She answered, "I was just giving you a hard time"  That was the end of the convo.

I also lost my brooch.  So good thing I didn't drop $400 USD + on it.  Will replace for another immediately.

    Nine West pumps, or what?

Don't kid yourself people noticed, You just didn't notice them noticing you. I read the lips of a woman walking perpendicular to me the other day as she whispered "I love those heels" to her friend, but didn't say anything to me.

I imagine many women noticed your slim body, skinny legs and would then see your heels, but were too envious to say anything.

I'm of the opinion that if your whole outfit looks good together, it's actually less noticeable, despite the gender mismatch in the footwear.

Video of me spinning a girl on my back, while wearing heels.  Most girls squeal.  She was a bit unemotional.

I've seen multiple other shots of you spinning girls. How did this rather unusual playfulness even begin?

Agreed, they don't suit me either.  But who am I to judge.

BEATS 2004, when we had to crusade for awareness (Arctic, JeffB, Bubba and a few others were around then).

Back then style.com was the "online home of Vogue, W" and was the single most powerful site in the fashion industry.  TheFashionSpot.com was the other, but that was a message board.

Style.com (the modern Vogue) deleted my heels for men thread.

*off topic...me thinks my belief in Bitcoin will enjoy the same justice with time.

It does beat 2004, I too was around then as well and remember both TheFashionSpot.com and the Elle thread you started.

Inspired by this photo, I put this exact outfit together. I had on Jessica Simpson pumps, white pants, stripped shirt and blazer. I went shopping for a new TV. In 45 minutes of discussing OLED, QLED, 4K, 8K, etc,, etc., there was certainly no mention of my attire, although it would have been impossible to miss.

Here's a photo of my own outfit, inspired by @kneehighs photo. I not only went shopping for a new TV in it, but later I went to the mall and, shopped around. Had lunch in the food court, which at the time was full of high school kids. As with looking for TV's, there was no comment on my attire at either location. I believe if you look good and have confidence, it all looks pretty logical. (BTW, the photo is recent, but the shopping was before Labor Day).

  14. I also prefer fashionable male clothes combined with heels. However, I feel some kind of additional dressy characteristic fits better with the heels. Even if I wearing jeans and T-shirt together with pumps, I like the look of a blazer as well. It seems logical to add some class to the heels.

    kneehighs,

I've wanted to remark on this observation for some time but it kept slipping my mind. You have been noted as being one of the most articulate and significant contributors on this forum and yet it occurs to me you live in Ukraine. Your English is very proficient, so much so, you strike me as either an expat from an English-speaking country or you simply mastered English in the admittedly outstanding educational system in the old Soviet bloc. Either way, it is always a privilege reading your work posted here. HinH

Ukraine? You're no longer in NYC? When did you move there?
