  1. Yamyam, and your point is...? Anyway, automatics are MUCH better! They sound nicer when you move off and there is less hassle with changing gear and all that, and more importantly, with regards to scratching your heels, you only get that on the right one not both!!

Sorry if that went a little off-topic but it had to be said!!

Automatics are cheating :D ! And I quite like changing gear, and I like doing rather more MPG. And I only scratch up my right heel anyway. If I drive in heels, I drive in bouncy rubber soles.

  2. Whereabouts in MH did you find an incline, Jay1? I don't recall that. Actually, I've nearly gone base over apex in a pair of boots. I wore them the first time and wore the rubber heel tips out, leaving me perched on two bits of metal. I sounded awesome, especially in the Gent's, on the tiled floor, but I nearly fell over a couple of times. For the first time in my life I spilt a drink just collecting it from the bar. Darn!

  3. What sort of reactions do you get from the "bovver boys"?

Well, far be it for me to answer for someone else, but I've never had a twitch off a 'bovver boy' or anyone similar! I think they're too busy thinking I'm some kind of soft Southerner to worry about my footwear

  4. After responding to another fellow board member in the “Should the U.S. Invade Iraq?” topic I realized that there is no question as to whether the U.S. should invade. Also, I am sick of posting in that now “dead” topic. This whole Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign has been very successful. Most of the anti-war protestors (0.0004% of the earth’s population) have been dead wrong about everything so far. Does anyone have any opinions about the aftermath?

    I can't believe I'm doing this but...

We weren't wrong. Where's the weapons of mass destruction then? Where's the thousands of nuclear weapons aimed at our kids' schools? Where's the stocks of anthrax that'd turn the whole world into a plague zone? Where's the link to Al-Quaeda?

Why did GWB do this again?

(Dons Nomex overalls and matching heels)

  5. I used to drive in heels, but to be honest it can be quite awkward. I have a BMW with the traditional long 'organ-style' loud pedal, and that's rather tricky in heels. The main reason I stopped driving in heels, tho', was that I found I was scratching up the backs of the heels on my shoes, so I decided not to bother. But I can drive in heels if I need or want to. (Plus, Jay1's cheating - he's got an automatic  )

  6. I doubt I'll ever become a permanent high-heeled man. At the moment it's totally out of the question, as I spend a few evenings a week in heels, and that's pretty much it. I don't think I'd want to, as I'd want to keep up with my little one, and for that I'd need to be wearing running shoes. But I have noticed after a weekend in heels that Mondays feel a little odd, and I get an occasional tug down my calves that day. Oh well, it's nice to feel a reminder of the weekend.

  7. if you want Christian music (which generally sings of worship and loving your fellow human being), my mate has about 10Gb of the stuff and more coming everyday.

Strange, for a guy who also loves John Otway.

"Walking on a beach in a force 10 gale, I saw 3 hippies saving a whale. I give 'em headbutts". Very un-Christian like!

To be honest, Francis, that's not left me much better off :D

  8. Pictures are always good (now that I have high-speed connectivity  ) They are nice, although again, I wouldn't wear them myself. But I look forward to hearing how you get on in them.

  9. Have bought myself a pair of black platform ankle boots, massive 5"chunky heal and platform, very noticeable under jeans

Can anyone help a failing heeler

    Highguy

    Hi, Highguy!

As Julietta said, why not come along to a meet. In the meantime, why not buy a more subtle pair of boots, and work your way up. I don't know about anyone else, but the first time I went outside, I had basic 1.5" wedges on. They still felt a million miles high, and anyone who'd checked my pulse would have found it in the low four figures, but I did it. Now I'm happily out shopping in stilettos, but it's taken me something like two years to get here.

This has been extensively written on in other places. but it's still worth thinking about. Why not give it a try?
