I'm curious to hear what kind of makeup you were wearing?

Newfie, I couldn't remember if you said you didn't like wedges or not, but this was the first pair I bought that I thought was masculine but was still awesome to wear. They are Steve Madden "Pepe"

I'm in the minority that actually prefers to wear boots barefoot. It's kinda weird in the winter time when you are at someone's house and they ask where your socks are. But, sometimes I'll wear socks or hose or fishnets.

You should of jabbed him with your stiletto...haha Good stuff man, way to stand your ground! I've had a similar experience where someone out of the crowd tries to me a macho guy and point out that I'm wearing shoes or whatever. Every single time it just turns into everyone else going "sweet shoes" and they go on with their business.

Definately something you have to see on first to make an opinion. You might even find your's or your fiancee's opinion might change.

I think my shoe preference has mirrored what was the trends at the time. When I started about 5 years ago, the styles were more chunky and blocky. Now, it's more slimmer and streamlined. You could also say that this is a true sequence for first time heelers, where they try to get more "masculine" looking shoes.

Great shoes! A friend of mine had a similar pair on last night for new years in black suede. I've thought about buying something similar for myself for outside. Also, I find The Shoe Company hit or miss sometimes (just like Payless). But, they are easier on the wallet and sometimes have extended sizes.

Newfie, that is an amazing story!!! It must be really comforting for her parents to be so cool with it. And those boots - what an unusual zipper on them! I've never seen anything like that before. Wear them with pride.

Wow! I thought I was the only one that noticed this. I just sold 3 pairs myself - 3 very feminine looking pairs (not that it matters), and it was all to males!

You know, I tried on shoes with a bow like that - pumps and flats - and you really doesn't make it all that more girly. I think it adds an extra flare! Same goes with a mary jane strap - you're still a dude in heels so who cares - Go for it!

As in the Cornell article that Kneehigh presented to us, it really grinds my gears that everytime people talk about guys wearing girls things it is automatically crossdressing. The article does a great job at discussing this double standard. Why don't they call a women buy guys stuff crossdressing? I don't think this stereotype will ever change.

I've noticed that tried a lot lately with the contrasting straps. At first, I didn't like it. After looking at it, it grows on you. I'm currently eyeing a Steve Madden pair that is a deep red patent peep toe with a white strap and buckle over the toe.

I normally just wear nude/neutral colors on my toenails, but once in a while I go bold. So I did a "robust red" - dark and red - very sexy! I did some shoe shopping in some ballet flats and of course had to take them off. Not a single comment! I love it! Makes me want to do it more!

I just went on a shopping trip myself. I went over to Detroit to pick some some xmas gifts. I had on a typical CB17 outfit - flare jeans, tight long sleeve cotton top, and the variation - black ballet flats. I was stopped my a sales lady at a kiosk selling some nail manicure/pedicure set. She was around my age (early/mid-20s) and had a middle eastern accent. She asked me if I was looking for some christmas presents for my mom or girlfriend and I took the opportunity to listen (since I had no idea what to get! hehe). She introduced herself and then we shook hands. As we were shaking hands, she looked down and was like "OMG Those are some beautiful shoes!". I thanked her and said I bought them at payless. She then said "Those shoes definately make your outfit. They look so great on you". Anyone here would say that hearing a comment like that is the greatest thing in the world. For someone to not even notice what you are wearing because it is natural makes you feel that the sky is the limit. After she took her eyes off my feet (still having the big smile), she said "forget about what I said about the presents, this products is something for you! A guy like you that cares about their appearence would want this for himself". Yes, she is a sales lady, but it was still an amazing comment to say. I did see the product on an infomercial before and wanted to get it - so I bought it!. I use it onmy fingernails since I don't polish my fingers, just my toes. I also went to some other stores and tried on shoes with no problems! But I didn't get any..hehe. Definately a good day!
