  1. It's all about the fit. Snug boots call for hose or thin trouser socks. Otherwise I need to wear socks, if just to keep the boots in place and not slop around on the feet. I have worn 4 inch block heel boots all day, walking literally miles in them. If they don't fit snugly, then blister city!

I can't go barefoot in boots. Just doesn't feel right...

I agree. I go with what the boot (most of the time) needs for my foot to fit properly and feel good.

  2. I don't know if this has been brought up in other post, but what if department stores, shoe stores, shoe mail catalogs, and shoe internet sale web sites would start using photos of casual and well dressed males modeling their heels and boots. I believe thier sales would increase and would make society more acceptical towards men who want to wear heels in public. Nothing against CD'S or TV'S but this would be aimed at men wearing heels dressed as men. The male models would be no different than the female models standing next to them. Most shoe stores that sale US size 12 and above know thier biggest buyers are men. they would be helping those men that go out in public be accepted a lot better. sexyshoes.com, roamanns, and maryland square to name a few could do this. One way on our part to get it started would be to flood as many stores as possible with e-mails suggesting the male models in heels. I know its not an over night thing that would happen but its a start. I'm also not talking about an exstreem fetish look which I beleive would hurt the cause. I'm going to send out e-mails to thier comment sections and hope for at least a positive reply. What do you as heel wearers think?

I know if a bricks and mortar store or a catalog had advertising with men wearing heels I’d spend money at the establishment or order something from the catalog. I would also talk to the manager or add comments in the catalog order form indicating why I was spending my money with them.

  3. Amen brother. The more I wear high heels in public and the more places I go, the more fun and exciting it is. And it is people like you and all of the other members who heel in public that inspire me to continue and go to more place in high heels.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

    Well said.

  4. Here are some of my pics.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention: one of my friends gave me a lowdown on a photographer who is also into the whole dark independent scene, so I'm going to pose as a model at the end of July. For that occassion [and for Castle Party, of course!], I'll experiment with makeup quite a lot.

    [EDIT]

    I added another pic...

    Very nice - great look.

    Just a couple of me.

Looks great. I really like the look of boots and jeans.

  5. I was about 12 years old, and Ellen would wear low-cut baby-doll shoes. I liked her, but the attire that so attracted me to her made me realize that I could wear slightly unconventional styles, too, but not until I got to college, and discovered clogs.

My first memory was my Aunt when I was in 1st grade or there abouts. She wore 3.5 to 4 inch heels all the time and tight skirts and hose too. Occasionally capris (then called pedal pushers for those that remember). I tried her heels a couple of times. Certainly changed my life.

Then there was the grade school teacher (5th I think) who wore 3.5 inch knee high boots. First time I saw them I couldn’t take my eyes off of the boots or her. I was hooked on boots after that. I like heels but boots are the biggest pizzazz.

  6. The last thing I want to happen to me is to be either taken to jail while wearing high heels or taken to the hospital while wearing high heels. I try to avoid situations and places where either of these might readily occur. I am still going to wear high heels in public. But as I have said in previous posts, there are places that could cause confrontation that I would rather avoid.

Yes, I agree with you 100%.

  7. Oh, I don't know. You have just about the best avitar on the board. Finding it (or creating it) then loading it up, is routine beyond me, and my background involves computing.

Thanks for the offer, but these images could be put up here, or made available in Flickr with a 'public' access directory surely? I know at least one member here has already done it that way.

I'm not a member, so these images are not available to me.

    ...

Thanks. I actually don't remember how I did it. I did find the avatar on another board, found the source and used it. Sometimes I get lucky. I love boots, so it was perfect for me. . . . . I wish it WAS me.

  8. Here were some answers people gave....u can give ur insight on this too..the more the better!!!

*my calves have gotton pretty big and i wear heels all the time

*They help work out your calves and your upper thighs and butt.

*Yes, wearing heels as you walk constantly works all of your leg muscles - especially your calves.

*They work your calf muscles... haven't they ever hurt after a night of dancing in high heels!?! I love it!

*not only does it give you larger calves, it thickens your ankle tendons and eventually that thickening is permanent. Suggest that you try to wear a variety of flats and heels to keep your ankles in a normal taper.

*well- yeah, it does as you're carrying all of your weight on your toes. I read today that people wearing heels put more weight on the ground than an elephant, because of the small surface area that a high-heeled shoe has, and the larger distribution of weigh that the elephant has!

*yes it does cause that's the muscle that's strains all day and u work the most

*Seriously, what happened to your calf muscle? You were born without?

Well, high heels will give you a painful calf muscles for first few days; they are not getting any bigger.

*My godmother who is 63 to this day still wears stylish heels sometimes six-inches!!!! And her leg muscles are unbelievably toned. I'm quite jealous. Of course you shouldn't wear them on a regular basis and knowing which heels best works well with you will keep you from causing damage to your legs. So to answer your question I'd say yes.

*You already had your calves kinda big just that you did not paid attention to it. Wearing high heels transformed your calv into real muscle and this is why you see a bigger difference. I think it is cool to wear highheels, it is very feminine, I also wear them , mostly because I am petite but I try to have a variety of heels, flats , thicker ones and change them all the time.

*Yes, it makes you use your callf mussles many times more than flat shoes.

*They have to be great for your calfs!

This is a little funny but I bought a pair of high heeled boots from a girl to go with an outfit that was supposed to be for Halloween. I tried them on when she gave them to me and they were hard to walk in ... really hard. She said I just needed practice so I kept them on for about 15 or 20 minutes while we walked around. The boots felt great and although hard to walk in, they didn't hurt or anything. The next day my thighs were soooo sore! Wow! They must have been a very good workout. I haven't tried them on again yet, when I do I'll see if the same thing happens, I'm guessing yes.

Yep, my thighs got a little sore at first. What I really liked was the definition I got in my calves. The 4 inch heels really worked those.

  9. I am in my late 20's and I have been actively wearing heels for 8 or 9 years now. Over that period of time my taste in heels has changed dramatically. At the beginning, I only ever had the desire to wear knee high boots or thigh high boots with a high stiletto heels, 3 inches minimum.

As the years have passed, my desire for the high heel has lessened and I now generally were boots with a heel height of 1-3 inches and the heel type has little effect on my choice of purchase. I have also started to wear pumps, which I really enjoy. I would have never even given pumps a second thought when I first started wearing heels.

Have other people experienced the same sorted of tendencies over their heel wearing life?

I tend to wear more of what I want to as opposed to what society would allow. When I was younger I wore 2 inch heels that even I couldn't tell were women's shoes. They were very generic. I graduated to higher block heels, mostly boots. Now I wear spike heel boots, block heel boots that tend to be 3.5 inches or higher, and some platform heels. All mostly with jeans. I'm just enjoying it all now.

  10. About 5 years ago I got a tattoo of a pair of red highheels. It's on the upper part of my thigh. Just wondering if anyone else has a tattoo of heels.

No heels (yet) but two half sleeves and chest- traditional Japanese dragon and a koi fish.

  11. Have any of you ever seen someone in public that you know while you're wearing high heels that they did not know that you wore high heels? Either someone from your past, present, or even someone from your workplace?

Believe it or not, of all of the times I have worn high heels in public, I have not encountered anyone from work, my past, or even anyone I presently associate with that doesn't know about me wearing high heels.

I have always preached on this website to be honest. I would tell them that I enjoy wearing them for fun, I'm not gay and I don't crossdress, and they are comfortable to wear for the fun of it. Of course, even as I'm typing this, this is easier said than done. And I know how the law of averages work. As often as I wear high heels in public, I know this will happen. And I will let all of you know if and when it happens.

So, has this happened to any of you? If this question has been asked before, I apologize. I've been a member of this wonderful website for three months. Thanks for your indulgence.

I wear Guess Rhapsody boots with 4 inch heels with jeans as standard winter footwear. I have run into former neighbors, former colleagues from work, students my wife has taught at college, and friends of my kids. None know I wear heels. Most don’t even know I’m wearing heels when I have run into them. They get a hint because I’m taller. Some even look a little puzzled because I am looking them in the eye. Usually have no problems because I act normal. The most interesting looks and comments I have gotten have been from the 7-12 age group kids. They are shorter and see everything and aren’t afraid to look and comment – “Mommy that man has your shoes” was the one I liked best so far.

  12. Has anyone seen the second movie trailer for Speed Racer? About 3/4ths of the way through it shows Trixie (Christina Ricci) piloting a

helicopter in what appears to be at least a four inch calf boot. The camera angle is shooting up from the floor of the chopper. Hopefully there will be more heels during the movie.
