  1. One funny thing I noticed as I compulsively read all the posts (which I also did catching up on cakewrecks !), I noticed that this picture : http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b183/susie_bubble/Style%20Bubble/vogboys10.jpg is actually of a woman.

It can be pretty hard to tell with some of the models these days. :winkiss:

I'm not sure if that's a step forward or just fashion's latest stick-insect female models.

But on a more cheerful note, it was interesting to see all the different ways men wore high-heels. I've never seen a guy in heels in real life in an "everyday" setting - maybe I should pay more attention next time I'm in Boston. :silly:

I don't agree with you that the subject is a woman. It is an androgynous image (could be either).

  2. When I hear unqualified partner I have come to assume it means "life" partner or "same-sex" partner. Someone not familiar with the vernacular might assume it means something else. I don't think it hurts to ask for a clarification though.

  3. I have a couple of pairs of Ballet style flats that I keep in the cars for driving.

I hung onto my wellies until about 2 years ago. I loathed throwing them out for sentimental reasons but they were just too uncomfortable for me to walk in anymore and seemed to be of more use to spiders.

So, I've not a lot to write about flats.

Both of my pairs are inexpensive, both have bows on them. Neither of which would I want to be seen stepping out of my car in. (although I almost have before now).

Perhaps I'll revisit this thread in a few years time once I've trained my feet to wear them again.

When I expect to have hundreds of pairs and plenty to say.

Until then....what is there to say about them?, they're flat...like leftover champagne in the morning, a car tire on your holiday or a dinner party to which you invited all the wrong people.

    ;-)

Just for grins why don't you show us your flats? You might be surprised at the responses.
  4. This is a question I've pondered often when reading posts here. I read the post, look at the avatar and wonder is that a picture of the poster.

So is your avatar really you?

Why did you choose that picture?

    and

If your avatar is an image of someone else, why?

BTW mine is me - it's a bit of an odd photo, but I just like that veiw of the heel. Shame about the chair leg.

So is your avatar really you? Yes

Why did you choose that picture? Because it shows me in heels that I like,,, on me and on ladies. (They look a lot better on ladies, I like the way they feel on me)

  5. Back in the day in Chicago there was the Chas. A Stevens building on N. State st. where there was a dept. store on the lower floors and then upstairs there were smaller retailers. There were a number of shoe sellers that specialized in larger sizes. As one large-footed woman explained it ; she would have to fight with the drag queens and cross-dressers to get all the nice styles before they sold out. She wore a size 12M.

  6. 1. The look depends on you. I would have to see the shoe on you to make a determination. 2. Since this is a platform there is only a 4.5 in. rise from toe to heel which should be manageable unless you have a tiny foot (5US).

  7. you should go to payless and try these , they are very nice and im going to buy me a pair this week. you can go to the payless web site and look there for some

I love the style, got them in red but I'm disappointed with the fit. I normally wear a 10W and size up to 11M for heeled pumps. I got these in 11W and they fit like a 10N, too tight across the toes and short in length.
