  1. Larry: We also just got back from a similar trip and the idea that the help staff entered your room that way is almost incredible. I normally take heels with me but haven't when flying and that could easily have happened to us too. You can bet everybody at the inn knew what she saw as that kind of info travels fast among the help. On the other hand you can also rest assured that they have all probably seen a lot "worse" in terms of different behavior. If it was me, I probably wouldn't go back there but that's up to you. 2. Most excellent posts here! I'm with Big Pump on the sheers. My favorites right now are a pair of very sheer black thigh highs my wife bought me from Victorias Secret. For some reason one of them doesn't stay up well at all so it's a great excuse to use a matching garter belt. I've always wanted to try some fishnets so I appreciated the last post. Thanks. 3. Our receptionist (office manager) showed up at a casual office dinner last weekend with low rise jeans and stiletto pumps with the very pointy long toes. I could tell all the guys were eyeing her but nobody was saying anything about the heels so I struck up a conversation with her and another girl. It was amazing how into talking about high heels they (and I) were. She thanked me for noticing. What with the wine, etc. I was really reeling. Could hardly get my mind on anything else. Hope she wears them in the office. She is young and I too hope it's a trend we see a lot of.

  4. Glad that works for you. By the same logic if a girl wears a pair of boxer shorts should she then dress entirely as a man? For me it is just the heels. That's what makes this a great forum - sharing different preferences. Have a great New Years.

  5. I think Firefox makes a legitimate point. In my case that shouldn't be a problem at all. And besides everybody knows that stilettos have a very slimming effect. My wife has always raved about how good I look and walk in stilettos but she has no idea I've been outside in them (albeit only once). In response to the earlier comment it's just a guys regular business suit, with pants. Thanks for your input Firefox. Wineanddine

  6. My first time "out" was in a navy blue business suit, but 5" red patent pumps which looked great to me but WAY too obvious and I felt too conspicuous. I've since bought the same in plain black (not patent) and the only chance I will have is out of town in a dark business suit. My question is how obvious or noticeable do you think that will be for outdoor walking at shopping areas and possibly a shoe store visit? Thanks, Wineanddine

  7. I'm with Wicedheelz on this - -she bought you a pair of 5" pumps and you can come home and dance in them? Call me crazy but I call that being on board. You are one lucky guy. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to hearing more. Keep up the good work. Wine and dine

  8. Those are some of the greatest looking pumps I've seen lately. The extremely thin heel is very popular in Europe. I saw lots of those in Italy. I'd love to have a pair with a 5 inch heel instead of the 4 inch. In a size 10 I've found that to be the ideal heighth. Does anybody know if they only come in 4 inch heel.?..no pun intended there by the way... Wine and dine

  9. If she has any doubts at all take her to Italy. We were there for a week and I did not see one chunky heel. All stilettos and some of the most gorgeous heels I have seen. Lots of boots and again all stilletto heels. We frequented several shoe stores (they are everywhere) but didn't buy anything. The craftsmanship on the sewing and the leather were awesome. Prices in that category of quality ranged from 200-800 Euros. Even on the cobblestone streets they seem to manage with the spike heels. I was amazed. One girl was in 4" pumps and navigating some very severe cobblestone in a tight skirt and my wife looked at me and asked me if I thought I could walk in those. My answer was the obvious one.. take care and good luck talking her into the stillettos...

  10. Dawn HH I got the black pumps in the mail from "Heelbuys" store on the internet and they are the most comfortable I have ever worn. The black is much less obvious than the red patent (obviously) and I'm looking forward to taking them out although it will probably be some time. With 5" stiletto heel they are surprisingly comfortable and easy to walk in. The name on them is Jante. For only $16.95 they were a real bargain. Wineanddine

  11. Dawn HH: Thanks for your kind words but I wouldn't exactly say I felt like I owned the place. I was scared as hell, but the worst part in my own mind at the time was that the red patent was so obvious. Even though I agree with ShockQueen that with the black it is very unlikely to go unnoticed I think I'll feel a lot more comfortable and less conspicuous. I ordered the black pumps Wednesday so they should be here anytime. Have a great Fourth. Wineanddine

  12. To all: Was out of town for a day trip last week and decided to try some day time heeling too. I was in a suit so I had no chance of wearing thigh highs so I bought a pair of "stocking socks" to change in to. The most comfortable pair of heels I have though are 5" red patent stiletto pumps. I put them on in a mall parking lot and with a navy blue suit and the navy stockings the red looked great but I might as well have been wearing a neon sign above my head. Walked across the parking lot to the line of stores and then down one length of the sidewalk. The most difficult part was how painstakingly slow it is and the girl about 8 years old with her mother who stopped and just looked and then said something to her mom, but they both just walked on. I think it would have been much better without the red so today I bought the same shoe in a plain black, but probably won't get the chance to try that again for awhile. Very exhilarating for sure though. I guess my question is even with the heel showing quite a bit with a dark suit and dark shoes what are the chances that people will simply not notice?

  13. To all: I agree with Jeff on this one. Given what your wife did there I would say she has a great sense of adventure and I would not rule out the street heeling thing for you in the future. From the sound of it I gather you just need to get a very long way away from home to try it out. It's a "problem" that we all have to contend with. Let us know if that's it or is there some other reason you are ruling it out completely? Wineanddine

  14. Zepan: Others will probably have better advice, I can only tell you what I did. After a night of drinking and my wife was feeling particularly horny we came home and she informed me she was going into the bathroom to slip into something sexy. I knew that would take awhile so I went into the closet for a "hidden" pair of red pumps I had had for sometime but had never told her about. The lights were very low so it actually took her awhile to figure out I had on thigh high stockings and the heels. She was a little surprised but so revved up anyway that things went very very well. I think in an absolutely worst case scenario I could have dismissed the whole thing as being too drunk but never had to resort to that. Since then it is our "signal" now that each is ready to do something. Good luck, it is worth the try. Let us know what you decide on. Wineanddine

  15. DawnHH: Thank you for the insight. Coming from someone who has obviously "been there and done that" I appreciate your comments. I currently have just 3 pairs of pumps in the house and she is aware of all of them. At least she doesn't try to hide them from me as the one guy's S.O. was doing. I would definitely take that as a negative that needed to be worked on. Thanks again. Wineanddine

  16. I think we all deal with the one step forward and two back thing but the steps forward are worth it. Saturday it was a rainy dreary day here so middle of the afternoon I decided after taking a shower that I would slip into a pair of black thigh highs and 6" black patent stilletto pumps and just watch some television and see how my wife reacted. What a pleasant surprise! Everything went great. She had actually bought the stockings for me for Valentines Day and I hadn't worn them much so she noticed that. Turned out to be a great afternoon and I left them on a lot longer than I normally would.

  17. To all: If anyone is considering shopping the internet i've found "heelbuys" on ebay to be an excellent source. I've bought twice from them and they have a large selection very reasonably priced. i've not had to exchange anything so I don't know how that is but they have a large selection of boots, pumps, sandals, etc. and all in larger sizes. Off hand I don't know if the block heel boots are available but they used to have a lot of boots. take care, Wineanddine

  18. Scotty: I'll leave that final decision up to you as I think only you will be able to determine if the time is right for that. However, you are one lucky guy if your sister in law is on board with your heel wearing and you can actually consider it. Good luck. I'm envious. Wineanddine

  19. Nice going there Scotty! After the pun about stepping out I couldn't believe you passed up any about pumping gas in pumps. I can identify with your approach. My passion is pumps and I haven't really had any desire to go out wearing heels that could somehow be taken as anything but high heels. But, it is also more difficult to pick and choose spots to do so, particularly in a smaller urban area. Congrats to you. Keep us posted.

  20. Haven't had a chance to since that first time. Too small of a city here so unless I have a chance to be out of town it won't happen. I would have picked something other than the 5" red stilettos but the only alternatives were a 6" blue or 6" black patent pump that are somewhat difficult to walk in on hard surfaces. I'm pretty sure that won't be my last time out though. Thanks for your kind comments.
