  1. I finally walked into a KMart with 4" Carlos Santana stiletto pumps with long jeans. I pushed a shopping cart into the store from the parking lot thinking that would be less conspicuous and the item I was looking for was at the other end of the store so it was a long hike there and back. In the checkout the girl made small talk but as soon as I started to walk away she came around and stared at my shoes then walked over to some other checkout girls. I didn't have the cart then and just walked out. I'm sure someone in the store tipped them off but it's amazing how nobody really cares, just seems to enjoy the oddity of it. Pretty much the same thing at an outdoor shopping plaza.

  2. No wonder your hand was shaking. I just found some (Stuart Weitzman "Fever") on Ebay and new they are $225 selling for $165 in the "Buy it Now" category. Out of my price range right now but I agree, they are the most awesome pair of pumps I've seen in a while. Congratulations!! Wineanddine

  3. WOW - - it's one thing to wear long jeans covering things but the capri pants with 4-1/2 inch pumps, there's no mistaking that! I would definitely have to have someone along for that action. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I have to agree with Pumps on this. Otherwise, people who enjoy golf should never support a charity's golf outing? I think you just take it at face value. If you support the charity and want to walk a mile in heels do it. Wineandine

  5. Johnieheel: Have you done this before or talked to someone who has? It seems pretty cool, among other things I wanted to make sure it was a legitimate charity, etc. Any input would be appreciated. Also, typically do these turn out to be about half and half guys and gals or predominately male? I'd like to talk the wife into it but would hate to get there and it turned out hardly any women. 6. We have one of these marches coming up locally and I was wondering who out here has participated in the past, how'd it go, etc.? Sounds like a win-win situation. The website is www.walkamileinhershoes.org

    Thanks,

  7. I bought my wife a pair of those several years ago, exact same shoe only in a size 8 the heel was a little over 6 inches. About all she could do was get across the bedroom floor in them. I tried squeezing them on and Drumitt is right they are just about impossible to move in, no support hardly at all. If yours have a velcro ankle strap be careful or the velcro will rip right through nylons...I've always thought the D'Orsay style was one of the best looking. Have fun Wineandine

  8. Good points Johnnieheel. I thought they looked a little bit big but seemed to stay on fine. What size are they? That can make a big difference in the walking in them. I never agreed with the "buy a size bigger" when buying 6 inch heels because they throw your foot so far forward that you get that gap at the back and it makes them even harder to walk in. I like a good snug fit.' Thanks for sharing. Wineanddine

  9. I tend to side with almost all the comments already made here. The one thing that really surprised me along the way was that while wearing inside the house it's pretty much a sexual thing which I thought would also be the case when wearing out in public but that side of the thing completely disappeared when wearing out in public. It's a rush and exciting to be sure but not in the way that it was around the house. I've only worn them out in obvious public situations a few times but afterwards just felt very content and satisfied, nothing sexual at all. I think this topic actually came up awhile back and somebody made the same observation and I thought "That's me"...interesting topic to be sure, thanks for starting it. Wineanddine

  10. I can remember laying on my parents bed and wearing a pair of my moms stilettos when I was only about 5 or 6 and having a very unique feeling about it. Not much else happening to speak of (occasional wearing when nobody was home and I could still squeeze into them as a teen) until I was out of college and living by myself and had a chance to explore wearing more often. It's good to be able to share this with other guys because as I'm typing this I have to wonder how strange that all sounds to someone who has no inclinations whatsoever to wearing heels. Wineanddine

  11. That'a a good reminder that in spite of preparation things can still go wrong and we've got to be able to adapt. In spite of trying to anticipate anything that could go wrong while heeling in public I still think about what I would have to do if I completely blew out a heel somewhere.

  12. Bernheels: In response to your original question, does anybody else feel like this?, we sure do. I'm 56, exact same situation as you described except right now I have only 4 pairs of which I only wear 2. I've gradually started some public wearing albeit only a couple times a year when out of town. The advice I got here about taking it slowly and picking your spots was good advice. A little more confident each time. Good to hear from you and welcome to the forum. Wineandine

  13. It's just so refreshing to see younger girls getting into the classic stiletto pumps that I don't even mind covering them with longer jeans. It's a great look. I saw a 20 something trying on some 4" heel pumps in the store awhile back and she was slamming her foot down to get her toes where she wanted and I smiled and she laughed. I think she was really enjoying it all. In some ways maybe it's like not showing everything at once. More interesting when there's something hidden. BTW - - to all that are responsible for the new site. What a great job you have done. Thank you. Wineanddine PS - - I changed my password because I couldn't remember the old one so I have no idea what this will look like.

  14. Jeff: Thanks for the outing update. I'm with Dr1819 on the outdoor wearing. I've got a pair of plain black pumps with very narrow stiletto heels that are a full 5 inches and while fine around the house are a little iffy on the surfaces you are talking about. My outdoor pair are 4.5" pumps with just a slightly wider stiletto heel but are sooo much more comfortable. My last time at the gas station a car load of young guys pulled up while I was inside paying and the same thoughts ran thru my head as I sucked it up and walked past their car in those pumps. The long jeans are a "life saver" for me in those situations. Thanks again for sharing that. Wineanddine

  15. Maudgca: Congratulations! I think my first time I had many of the same observations. In general, most people just don't seem to notice/care and that is so hard to believe until you actually experience it because I was always so nervous and self conscious, as you can imagine. Keep us posted. Wineanddine
