Isn't there an old cowboy trick than involves standing in the bath and wearing them till they dry? I suppose it would be a handy way of getting trench foot too.

I Tried this once. But after 4 days of standing in the bath, my boots were still wet.

Was I supposed to let the water out of the tub?

I have read that men walk with their chest leading (think John Wayne), whereas women walk with the hips leading. (or at least in general)

Many years ago, and old girlfriend commented to me that I walk and even stand differently when wearing heels. For me, I think consciously being aware of your posture makes walking in heels easier and much more enjoyable.
