  1. I have been doing this for over five years. The last three years I wear almost always heels when I go shopping for clothes and shoes. It is very liberating. You are heading for good times, my friend ! Store assistants are almost always friendly. You will find that they mainly share your passion for shoes ...

  2. One nice benefit of trying on heels in stores is that after a while everyone in the store gets to know you. I was back at my local Nordstrom yesterday. Everyone greeted me. One sales girl came over to compliment me on my pants. Even the guys waved hello from a distance. They always bring some new shoes for me to try on, even though I don't always buy. Always fun. My GF tried on several pairs of Jimmy Choo and Prada boots, but we didn't buy. Just a bit too expensive. When I go in the weekend I tend to go after dinner, so the sales staff is not as busy.

  3. You know, there are always idiots around. Just this week I had some teenagers scream obscenities at me because they didn't like the car I drive (A Prius). Actually, when I think of it rationally, I have been insulted more on the street for random crab than for my heels. I just think that when people make some negative comment about our heels we tend to feel it more, as it is a sensitive issue

  4. Steve Thanks for sharing your great story with us. I have heeled in SF dozens of times with my gf and can assure you that it is a very accepting city. I have worn 4 in sandals with nail polish, a nice handbag, and nobody seems to blink. Hope you get to come more often ! Nice to see that your friends are also into heels.

  5. What's funny is I have been hit on by gay men many times in my life but never when wearing heels.

Same for me. Have been hit on many times, but never when I wear any heels, bags or feminine clothing. Kind of funny.

Actually, one time was in a bar in San Francisco. Forgot the name, but it is rather well known place where gorgeous transexuals perform. It is very popular place. Well I go there with my girlfriend to have dinner and drinks, and the owner (or manager) starts hitting on me in front of my girl friend. Wasn't even wearing heels :-)

  6. Greetings loveheel :-)

The Nine West wedges are really nice.

I like the fact they got a high heel with no platform.

I'm sure they must be very comfortable and fun to wear.

Lucky for you that your Nine West store carry up to size 11.

The Nine West sotre in my area only go up to size 10, which is quite unfortunate.

I also wear size 11. They got so many nice shoes and boots but their size 10 are too small !

Many of the Nine West stores in my area have been closing. Not sure why. Have to go well out of my way now to buy Nine West. So have been hanging out more at Nordstrom stores.

I found that Nine West very often had size 11 left in shoes that I liked. Nordstrom is pretty good about carrying larger sizes as well

  7. Tallguyinheels: congratulations. I always wear heels when shopping in Nordstrom but haven't had the guts to do skirts. Like you I have had extremely good experience with the sales people. They always set me up in one of the "nice" dressing rooms in the high end area of the store. Very relaxed, and indeed nice dressing rooms ! I have stayed in hotel rooms that were smaller ! I have never had difficulties at Nordstrom. At worst I have had a sales person that was disinterested, but I just assume they are the same with everyone.

Today I went to my local Nordstrom here in Massachusetts with my GF. I was wearing linen pants with wedge heels, and my favorite Jimmy Choo handbag. First sales girls was OK but not helpful, so we just strolled along. Found someone who was enthusiast about helping me and my GF, so we tried on at least 15 things together. Ended up buying a Missoni skirt and a Vince sweater. My GF also tried on some Prada and Jimmy Choo pumps, but we passed on them. She looked gorgeous in them, but just too expensive. Here is a link to the pumps.

  8. Most guys have a similar problem. It can be difficult to do dresses or feminine tops when you have broad shoulders. If you look carefully, the largest difference in proportions between men and women is shoulders to hips. Women often have narrow shoulders and wide hips, whereas for men that is the other way around. Dresses that expose your shoulders can emphasize the broadness, as do cap sleeves. Covered shoulders are better. Women also have the bust to detract from the shoulders. I find that turtle necks and other women's sweaters often work very well. Loose fitting can work well. If you do tight fitting tops, go for a heavier fabric. Thin tops that are tight fitting show everything and are hard to pull off ! I have been able to make cowl neck tops work as well. The draping upfront seems to detract from the shoulders. All in all, I have found fall and winter clothing much easier to pull off, then summer clothing. I am on vacation, but will try to post some pics later. Good luck

  9. I shave my legs most of the time and like the smooth feeling a lot. I wear shorts regularly in summer and some folks have noticed. One women who works for me in particular seemed to make a big deal about it to one of my colleagues, but nobody has ever really mentioned it to me. I don't understand why this is a big deal. In Asia, few guys have serious body hair, and it doesn't looks strange at all.

  10. Thanks for all the nice comments ! I have only worn a skirt once outside (the jeans skirt), but did not wear it with heels. I do regularly wear heels with pants and have only great experiences to report. Most people don't say anything, some look surprised, and many offer a nice compliment. I haven't done capris yet with heels, but I think I'll muster the confidence to do them on my next trip to San Francisco.

  11. My gf took some pictures of me in multiple outfits, wearing the same Michael Kors sandals. I bought the sandals in San Fran a few months ago, and really like them. They are very comfortable. Please let me know which of these outfits you like most. There are five outfits in total. Two with different capri pants, two with different maxi skirts, and one with a short jeans skirt. Thanks !

  12. Leggings are definitely great with a long top. I have attached a few looks I like. I have never worn leather-like leggings out, but I have worn tight jeans leggings out to Nordstrom. I was wearing a pair of brown high heeled boots over them. Instead of tunic I wore a cardigan over the leggings. I definitely recommend having the top cover your back side unless you are very trim. I bought a new pair of nice jeans leggings from Michael Kors a few weeks ago. Looks amazing with peep toe booties, but haven't had the courage to wear that look out yet !
