  1. I check in quite often, but don't post as much these days unless I feel that I can make a contribution. My own experience with heels has changed too, when I first joined it was a secret thing that my wife hated, and posting here was a good way for me to talk to people with the same interests. Then we split up (not heel-related) and I went through the "coming out" phase to some close family and friends, where I felt I needed the support of a peer group. Now I'm happily re-married to a lady who accepts my heels and is quite happy for me to wear whatever I like. That's a wonderful thing, but it does mean that I don't feel the same need to talk about it, and my heel-related internet activity is mostly shopping.

  2. I love white stilettos. I desperately want, but am unable to find, a pair of white leather calf-length stiletto boots. I used to see them a lot in the 80s, but sadly I seem to be the only one wanting them back. I do have a nice pair of white stiletto courts from Office though. :)

  3. I met my wife online and I told her about my heels the first time we met IRL. She was fine about it, and the next time she was at my place she asked to see my heels, and wanted me to try them on for her. Since then she's been an absolute star about it. I'm sitting here in a pair of stiletto ankle boots that I've been wearing all evening with her blessing. She knows that they're just shoes and it doesn't stop me being me, what I have on my feet is a total non-issue for her.

  4. I've only ever had one sort-of negative experience. I went shopping wearing my avatar boots but with the purple flames, I was also wearing black jeans and T-shirt, and a long black leather coat. I walked past a gang of teenage boys, one of whom started laughing and pointing at my heels while loudly advertising the fact that I was wearing high heels to his friends. Funnily enough, he stopped as soon as I turned round and made eye contact with him.

  5. Rick24 and HHDude: there are women out there who are not freaked out by the idea of a man in heels, you just need to find one. Most of my heel wearing is at home these days as where I live is not exactly cosmopolitan, and being on the Lifeboat crew in an area where everyone knows everyone else makes you rather high-profile. That said, she's more than happy for me to totter around the house in my red satin stiletto sling-backs and stockings. I think the key is that I told her about my heels the day we met, so I was open with her about it from day one. Had she freaked out at that point, I'd have known that she wasn't the one for me. Since then, with her blessing, I've branched out into some other areas of female attire, and she doesn't mind one bit.

  6. That's funny! The boots in your avatar look like they would stick out in a pitch black room! I like 'em!

They're not exactly subtle are they? I love the fact that the styling is quite aggressive but the heel feels like a stiletto to wear. Add to that cushioned footbeds and the fact that they're pretty sturdy and they become my street heeling boots of choice. I have the same pair with the flames in silver and purple, but I think the orange ones are my favourites.

  7. If I was going to be picky, I'd want those in black, and cut just above the ankle, but other than that I love them! One thing I've learned from experience is that wearing them out is a lot harder than at home on nice flat surfaces. I would certainly be using the need to practise before going out in them as an excuse to wear them a lot. :wink1:

  8. Going back a few years I was in a club in Manchester wearing the New Rock boots in my avatar. I was sitting down with my legs crossed when a guy walked past and bumped my foot, he apologised and as he did he looked down and saw my boots. He did a bit of a double take before remarking "Nice one mate, they're cool!"

  9. Related. But barely. Does speak to movie "magic" and heels though. In the film Iron Man 2 Gwyneth Paltrow is wearing fairy tall stilettos through out. There is a scene where she walks down the stairs of his lab and turns to walk across screen to go speak face to face with Robert Downey, Jr. There are tables and equipment which are blocking the bottom half of her legs, except one tiny gap where you can see they switched her into flats.

According to IMDB, she's half an inch taller than he is, I suspect that the flat shoes were so that she wouldn't tower over him.

  10. My mum and stepdad don't know, but that's mostly because I've never found a convenient way to bring it up, and because they live so far away I don't see them often. My cousins both know and we try on each other's heels, my aunt knows and doesn't care, and my uncle pretends not to know. My aunt's my mum's sister and they're very alike, so I don't think my mum would care either. I'm not sure about my dad, but not having seen or heard from him in a year I don't think it'll come up anytime soon.
