  1. Just visited the exhibition this weekend and here is my review... They have a bunch of mannequins dressed up in many different skirts from different times. There are a couple of models that show a guy wearing a mini with a nice white jacket, black tights and military boots; that is the most interesting thing to watch. No guy in heels was in the expo, or at the expo! however, a girl there made a comment that guys indeed look sey on a skirt! that was the highlight of the visit! Pam

  2. On Halloween I went to payless to buy some boots, but to my surprise all 12's were gone or with no heel. I also a nice pair of JLO's looking booties with a 3 inch heel and fitted just fine! Wore those on my first outing ever! Nine West has a nice variety of sizes 11 and 12 online, and you can always change them at the store. hope this tip helps Pam

  3. I will imagine that sharing heels can become a shared activity as long as the rules are clear from the start. Currently I share some clothes with my wife (non-controversial), but we have stated certain things we can/cannot do when we wear them. HH are special for both sides, and sharing can create a bond...

  4. Exactly Pam! We've all gone through that first ultra-nervous debut stage and survived intact. We're all still here, still enjoying our street-heeling ten times as much. None of us have been molested, imprisoned, ostracised or anything else. We all get a sheer sense of relief that a) It went 100% OK, and :( that we can repeat it for evermore.

    What could be better?

No much, is like riding the roller coaster for the first time! We certalinly care for what people might think, when in reality most people don't. Every journey begins with a first step, high-heeled step that is!

  6. When it comes to work or important events, it is key to take care of how you present yourself no matter how genius you are... Your brother is lucky to have a brand name that allows him to be more relaxed on his look :( Unfortunately I am stuck in corporate america, very traditional if I might add!! I am at a place where actual looks and politics are sometimes more important than knowledge and skill

  7. Appearances are important, but they can also sometimes limit the capacity to meet someone interesting... I had to interview a guy for a job ... came to the interview totally dressed down, since he was a creative IT guy, that was his excuse for his appearance. This dude has an impressive resume, and he was a very smart individual. I recommended him for a second round, but my boss totally shut him down because of the way he presented himself. His reasoning was that he was not appropriate to carry the company's image as an employee...Appearances matter!!! :( This is an odd case, but the bottom line is that there is a time and place for everything including appearances.

  8. I learned that honesty is the best policy the hard way (see coping with wife) All the advice given in this forum converges in being honest with your partner. The best companion for honesty is time, after you outed your secret let some time pass. Things are viewed differently after the initial shock. Time allows you and your partner to organize thoughts and feelings. The last part of the puzzle will be information. The more you can inform your partner, the better. Information helps put things in perspective and balance since it becomes more familiar to both parties involved. Pam

  9. Hello everyone, Have been w/o internet for a few days, but I am back .... Just wanted to share a small success story with you all. My plan was to go to a party dressed in a military costume and have my HH in my backpack along with a skirt (to increase the challenge). After the party my plan was to change and walk home using both skirt & heels. Well, I did it! it feels Soooo good!!! ( helped to gain confidence!!!) Thought of sharing with you all, thanks for your encouragement! Pam PS - This was posted on another thread, but makes much more sense here! Cheers

  11. It is a rather exaggerated term to a change that has been slowly happening to society since the 70's. But I think is very positive because it will certainly help remove a lot of "taboos" from our culture, especially regarding what they call "alternative" clothing or lifestyles. This should not be seen as an evolution :( , it is just a series of consequences of actions from people that do not fit in the custom stereotypes. However it is adding new freedom of choices with less prejudice!!! Maybe in a near future we will see men in high heels and skirts in the catwalk, as we have already starting to see (see vogue magazine add!) :( my 2 cents Pam
