  1. Howdy, Actually, I was planning on doing a similar thing for certain places here in the Phoenix area for the "support" group as it develops. We have a place called Smokin Lingerie and another place called Fetish Falls that sells the Pleaser line and the Jante line that I thought could be willing to take flyers. See ya, Larry

  2. Hello, I have had 5-inch pumps from Jante, Pleaser, Sexy Shoes, and Ellie. I found that the Jante pumps seem to have a steeper arch than the other brands. In my profile picture you can see the Ellie pumps that I wore out for seven hours on Halloween (my wife and I both went as French Maids) and it was probably three or four hours before I started to hurt. Side note - It was kind of cool because there were a few gals that kept checking in on me to see if my feet were killing me yet. Wear a pair of serious heels well to a big Halloween party and you will have a lot of positive attention from gals. Later, Larry

  3. Howdy, As I have searched the web for research articles about men wearing high heels I have come across the number that 2% of men like to wear high heels for fetish or whatever reasons. It is also suggested that this number is likely to be on the low side because guys generally do prefer to keep this on the down low. So if you are at a shopping mall it is likely that there are several hundred men there as well. So if you have four hundred men it is also likely that at least 8 of the dig wearing heels. When I am out in public places with a lot of people I like using that statistic to get an idea of just how many guys there are around me who could be down with wearing heels. As a teenager when I would drink (I know I know - teenage drinking - long time ago) with my buddies usually we would stumble upon a pair of my "moms" high heels. It didn't take much of a dare for my buddies to throw them on. Now none of them were guys that wore high heels other than those times however I can remember one night where three of us wore them around the back yard until the wee hours of the morning. The next day they didn't seem to have a problem with it. Coming back to the 2% figure. I think that there are lots of guys out there that dig wearing high heels and are growing tired of just wearing them around the house. How much fun is walking only 15 or 20 feet before you have to dodge furniture or a wall or something? Heck, I barely get my pace up in 15 feet. I really think that if more guys could have a someplace to go where they could openly wear their shoes without being judged and without being considered weird without there being a weird vibe on the place that it could be a really good thing. I have no idea what this would look like or where it could be however I am putting it out there that I intend to facilitate its creation. I am hoping to come across some good folks with great ideas and bring an open place for guys (and gals) to chill and enjoy wearing their high heel shoes. Later, Larry

  4. Hello Again, Well, it has been a few years since I have posted anything here. I have still been enjoying heels and every now and then I have popped in on the forums to see what has been going on. About five years ago I came into a relationship that ultimately led to my marriage I thought it might be a good idea to spend more time with the Mrs. than online. She is supportive of my experience with heels and things are very good. We have been married for three years and I really dig it. What is leading me back to this great web site and organization is that I am moving toward beginning a group for guys and gal who dig wearing heels in the Phoenix Arizona area. I saw a web site one time for gals who have great shoes and not enough occasions to wear them so they get together somewhere around once a month so that they can enjoy wearing their shoes. I thought that would be great to have something similar that was guy inclusive. I am also involved with a spiritual growth organization that sees the idea of a group with this purpose as a great way for guys who enjoy wearing high heels but still feel odd about it to find joy and self acceptance in the experience. So that is what is up for me. If you have any input or positive support for the group it would be appreciated. So I think that you will find me around more as this group experience comes together. See you around the forum, Larry

  5. I dig jazz too. Mindi Abair is wearing a pretty sexy pair of shoes on the cover of "It Just Happens that Way." I would love to see her play the sax live. Especially if she is wearing those shoes. :( AZShoeNut

  6. Wow, that was an interesting read. The whole lot of posts that is. Mom finding out…. What a stress that was at one time. Both my parents know about it. My Mom more so than my Dad. I think that the only reason that I brought my Mom into it twelve or fifteen years ago was that I needed a credit card to order from Frederick’s of Hollywood. To be absolutely honest it has been only within the past five to eight years that I have developed comfort with my interest in women’s shoes. My Mom was cool with it when I told her and she even got a bit of a kick out of it. I wish that I had been more comfortable with it then. The subject has only come up a few times since then. At one time, still a long time ago, she mentioned that she wished that she had been more involved with it. That is she wished that I shared more with her. Well now fast forward more than a decade and I am wondering if I should pick the subject up again. She is sixty-six years old. I am wondering if I should open the floor up for discussion. I am scared that the subject might be uncomfortable for her. But I also wonder if she really does want to be in on this part of my life. Who knows how much longer she will be around. I know that it still enters her mind because when I moved into my condo last February she wanted to make sure that my friends from work would not find anything “personal” when they painted the place before I moved in. I suppose if it is meant to be then it will happen. Interesting topic. AZShoeNut

  7. I haven’t read all of the replies so I might be making points that have already been made. I agree with the high heel - low heel cycle mentioned elsewhere in the thread. During the eighties it was great. All the women wore pumps with the majority being high heel pumps. It was not considered slutty (I have never considered it slutty) to wear high heels. Then it happened. There were a number of "specials" on TV discussing the adverse health effects from heels. There were groups working to push manufacturers to produce lower heels as a standard. When this happened I thought, "Oh no, heels are on their way out." Sure enough low, ugly, blocky styles started to dominate the fashion seen. I am sooooo glad to see heels coming back. I hope that their stay is long but when fashion starts to dictate lower heels again I will just go back into hibernation and await the next return of heels. An interesting side issue has developed though. Now that all the sexy shoes are on the way back in I cannot seem to find them in my size. I have seen shoes from Guess, Donald J. Pliner (?sp), and many other brands that I would really like to buy but they all stop at size 10. Wearing a size 12 I find myself more and more distressed that the new sexy styles just cannot be found in larger sizes. I have considered trying to make shoes for myself and have even started laying them out in CAD. Perhaps there exists a business oppertunity in producing current styles in larger sizes. AZShoeNut

  8. I wonder if endurance in heels has anything to do with weight. In high school I had heels ranging in height from 1-inch through 5-inch. Back then I could go five hours standing on a 4-inch heel and the ball of my feet would not hurt at all. I weighed 180 pounds at that time. When I quit smoking my weight shot up to 230 but I am now down to about 205. I now cannot seem to go more than an hour in 4-inch heels without some pain developing where my large toe connects to the foot. It has become quite a discomfort and I cannot say that I particularly care for it. AZShoeNut

  9. Man, to be in your shoes. (pun intended) What I would do to be able to go back to high school and wear shoes like that and be accepted. I think that I have said it before but enjoy it while you are there. AZShoeNut

  10. Yeah, I had some gothic friends in high school and they were all cool too. At that time, ten to fourteen years ago, Goth was refered to as "mod". There was one guy that wore black dresses on a regular basis and nobody gave him any trouble. I really did not belong to any particular group in high school but I suppose that I identified the most with the gothic crowd. You are fortunate because at that time I had a hard time even admitting to myself that I was wearing heels. Enjoy it now. I wish I had enjoyed it more then. AZShoeNut

  11. The only one that I can respond to is buying my first pair. I have not done public so I guess that doesn't count. I really wanted to try a pair of the wedge style flat pumps that were so popular in the late eighties. Finally, at age twelve, I went and scored a pair from Payless. I must admit that it is still hard to go into a store and buy a pair of shoes. Thank the maker for the internet. AZShoeNut

  12. Hmmmm, I have mixed feelings on this topic. I grew up in a very open minded house, had open-minded friends, and was very active in a very open-minded youth program. It is important to me to believe that we should do whatever makes us happy regardless of society perspective or perceived norms. I find the thought of wearing my heels in public both exciting and terrifying. Thoughts pass through my mind in favor and opposed to the idea. Thoughts in favor: 1) Underlying belief that we all should in fact do what makes us happy 2) I am curious as to how I would perform in heels for a distance greater than the 40 feet from bedroom to kitchen. 3) I would absolutely love to go shoe shopping with a gal that was into the whole thing. 4) I have not told one person about my interest in shoes that reacted poorly and some even responded with support. Now, of course, I have only chosen to share this information with people that I thought would react favorably. Thoughts opposed: 1) Don't want the neighbors to find out because if they don't approve I will have to see them everyday (I live in a condo complex) 2) I have overheard a conversation among three women that I used to work with about when one of them saw a guy wearing 4-inch pumps and about how unusual it was. It was even suggested that people like that are at root of many of societies problems. 3) I work for a "good-ol-boy". This type of person is exceptionally prejudiced and I believe that my work life would be a lot less pleasant if it were to get back to them that I participate in such an activity. I run into people from work fairly frequently 4) The movie "Waterboy" depicts that men wear high heels as the product of some sort of emotional shock. I recognize that it is just a movie and that I am assigning the scene that value but I would like to see another interpretation of it. 5) I live in a city that is run by and mostly populated by a very closed minded religious organization that openly opposes such behavior. AZShoeNut

  13. I used to have two pairs of 5-inch Jante pumps and but I am now down to one. I also have three pairs of Pleaser pumps. Before all the Internet and ebay stores Jante used to be a lot more expensive. I believe that I spent $75.00 on my black suede, 5-inch, double ankle strap pumps about six years ago at a store. They do seem to have great quality though. The problem with both Jante and Pleaser is that their sizes run a bit small. If you can get the next larger size I would go for it. One difference between the Jante pumps and the Pleaser pumps is that with the Jante pumps feel like you are walking on a lot higher heel than you feel with the equivalent Pleaser shoes. AZShoeNut

  14. You know there is a least another guy in AZ that has to be into this as well. (lots more I'm sure) I was headed out Canyon Lake way for some camping. I decided to stop at Superstition Springs Mall to score a pair of shoes for the trip. When Payless and the other shoe stores held nothing worth buying I stopped at one of the better stores like Macy's or something like that. Man, the clerk took a lot of interest. Tried to find a better place to sit so I would not be disturbed while trying on pairs. And, when nothing was found in my size he got me information on a Tucson mail order company. I think that he found the experience more exciting that I did. AZShoeNut

  15. Say, is there any way that you can post a picture? I have tried finding that pair at payless.com but it does not come up in the lot finder or the shoe search. I have a few Fioni brand shoes in size 12 and I would love to find a good pair of high heels in that brand. Thx, AZShoeNut

  16. There is that too Alex and FF I hate it when I take my heels off as I feel suddenly so close to the ground...

That is a very substantial sensation. One thing that I do dig about it is that it slams home just how high the heels that I was wearing were.

The only shoes that I had access to when I first started wearing heels were some mules and sandals left over from the late seventies and early eighties. At this time all the gals were wearing pumps. Wow, I really thought pumps were awesome with my favorite being about four-inch heel pumps. I could not wait until I could try a pair of pumps for myself. Finally I got to try a pair of my sister's pumps. They were also about four inches high. What I remember the most of my first experience with those was the same feeling of the shoe only contacting the heel of my foot and the ball of my foot but what I also recall was the feeling of the top of the shoe running along the top of my toes. That feeling of the cushy lining on my toes is what I think I look for the most when I get new shoes. I expected that the pointed tip would crunch the toes together. That squishing I thought would be cool but the cushy feeling was a whole lot better.

  17. What did you find to be the most intriguing sensation observed during the first time that you wore a pair of heels? The first pair of heels that I wore was a pair of wooden soled, three-inch, Candies brand mules. The thing that caught my attention the most was the fact that I only felt my foot touching the shoes at the heel and the bottom of the ball of the foot. That combined with the lack of stability I found to make for a unique and strange sensation. That is what sticks out the most in my mind from my memories of my first high heel experiences. I have always kind of wonder what everybody else felt. Perhaps more specifically I have always wondered what women noted as the most intriguing sensation during their first experiences of heels. So what do you recall? AZShoeNut

  18. Well, the first experience that led to my passion for heels must have been when I was around 10 to 12 years old. Wow, eighteen years ago. Anyway, I was watching Gilligan's Island in my parent's bedroom. In that episode, they had Gilligan dressed up like a woman. He exaggerated the difficulty of walking in heels and I had never really figured that they would be that odd to wear. The TV was set on a dresser that was right next to my Mom's open shoe closet. So, I said to myself, "That has got to be BS. Heels cannot be that hard to walk in." So, I grabbed a pair of, guessing, three-inch Candies wooden heels and gave it a try. I was actually surprised that they were indeed quite unstable. Though I found them fascinating I did not have any type of epiphany. I had no, "man I really need these in my life," thought. From there I really have no idea how just a quick interest developed into such a passion. I would love to do hypnosis or something like that to recall all the details. What I can tell you is that within a year I was baby-sitting every chance I could. My sister wore size 11w shoes that fit me very well and had a whole closet of the Highlights pumps that I dig so much now. As soon as the kids were asleep I was in the closet until my sister got home. I wish that I could go back and do it all over again. The only thing that I would change is that instead of buying candy bars with my allowance I would buy shoes. AZShoeNut
