  1. Hi, It is kind of funny the first pair that I bought were not even high heels. My Mom had great high heeled sandals and my sister had great high heeled pumps that I would wear. What neither of them had that all the girls in school would wear were the low heeled wedges and low regiular heel pumps that were so popular in the late 1980s. So my first purchase, at age 13, was a pair of white low (1.25-in) wedge pumps from Payless. They were $11.99. They were so awesome and all mine. I hid them in my parents camping trailer in the back yard. I would live in the trailer during the cooler months and have ample opportunities to wear my shoes. My second purchase, a couple months later, was a pair of 1.5-in black patent pumps identical to a pair that that a girl in my homework hour in 8th grade would wear. Good memories. Larry

  2. Hey Steve, I bought gas at the Fry's right down the street from you on Friday morning and was thinking about you. Glad to hear that you are out and about having fun in your heels. I still think it takes juevos to wear your heels into the hispanic markets. You rock! Later, Larry

  3. Hi, When Steve and I do the fundraiser walk I usually stumbled on the question, "How do you walk so well on such high heels," until I just started telling the truth. At the last walk I just started saying, "Well, I've been wearing heels for many years." Much easier and the conversation doesn't feel strained like when I try to get creative. Larry

  4. Sounds awesome. Say, how do they fit? It seems that most of their sizes end at 10 or 11. I wear a size 12. Are their sizes "normal" fit, large fit, or small fit? If I thought that there was a chance that a pair of thier size 11 shoes would fit me I would make a purchase. Enjoy you new shoes! Best, Larry

  5. Howdy,

    Thanks a bunch everybody!

Nice story, nice looking sandals too! Are you going to wear them outside? My wife and I go shoe shopping at times, and I know what you mean, it is fun!!! Especially when you are able to find some nice shoes... sf

Howdy SF, I would love to wear them outside however my wife is still a little bit up tight about me going out in public in heels. The Phoenix metro area is a big town but everwhere we go we run into people we know. I am not sure of if, how, or when but I sure would love to go out on the town in those shoes.

Mmmmm... Me likes those black polka dot with white background heels. :irked: I was curious, what is your Mrs.'s height and shoe size? I'm a size 13narrow btw.

Hi Regen, Ya, I dig the polka dot shoes the best myself. Gosh I guess she is 5'5" or so and wears 10W. It can be a challenge to find decent shoes for her too.

Sounds as if you and the wife had a nice time and you both got what you wanted. I like the white ones with the black polka dots best, too. I am sure you will enjoy wearing them.

I thought you might dig them, Steve. I recalled your preference for sandles as the clerk bagged them. Hope all is well.

    :-)

  6. Howdy, I just gotta post about my new shoes and about buying them yesterday. It is just so hard to find heels in 12W that I absolutely love and yesterday I picked up two pairs. Yesterday, mid-day, I suggested to the Mrs. that we go get pedicures and do some shoe shopping. She agreed happily. Now she can get a little up tight when we are out shopping explicitly for heels for me and I didn't sense that at all this time. After an amazing pedicure where I actually got clear polish we headed out shoe shopping. A quick stop at Payless turned up nothing. We then headed down the mall to Torrid. Wow, what a great experience. We went in and my wife was completely supportive of helping me find shoes that I would like. I have been looking for a pair wedges that are high, cute, and fit my size 12W feet for years now. Though both pairs could use one more inch in height they are still pretty awesome. After we picked out the shoes we browsed through the store and my wife enthusiastically sought my opinion in different outfits and shoes for her. It was completely open, relaxed, and fun. I feel like neither of us were worried about others and were just being ourselves. We even had fun chatting with the sales clerks. After a bit we checked out, went out to the car, and headed home. It was just a great day. I found shoes that I just adore, got to have a good time shopping with my wife in a way that I think that she appreciates, and we both went home happy. I just had to share. :-) Larry Here are a couple of pics. I like the black and white ones the best. :-)

  7. Perfectly put. This sums up what I have attempted to explain to my wife. Alexa perfectly explains why wearing a pair of heels only around the house is insufficient to completely enjoy the wearing of high heels. Every step is an oppertunity for perfection and enjoyment. A great find there, Rob! Best, Larry
