One of the bookmakers who previously worked for The Little Shoe Box and more recently for Natacha Marro is now in business under the name of Ilias Little Shoe Box.

One of the bootmakers from The Little Shoe Box that used to be in Islington, London is still in business with a similar name.

Faith went into administration a few days ago. They have been in trouble with cashflow for several years, and the plug has now been pulled. Big sale now on.

Note that http://www.ballet-heels.com/site/index.php?janne-henson has
moved to http://www.ballet-heels.com/site/janne.phtml but they forgot to redirect the old URL.

I knew that there would be a technical word or two for that, and I also knew that you would know what it was... LOL.

Both Faith and Aldo have several pairs very similar in design to some CL classics. Steve Madden and Oh Dear! and others also play in that market.

Most of the Christian Louboutin shoes and boots I see offered for sale have a 120 mm heel.
There's a few with 100 mm or 140 mm heel, but the 160 mm models seem sadly lacking; I rarely, if ever, see those available.
Are these reserved solely for purchase by celebrities, sold only in the CL boutiques, only available by special order, or what?

The sheen of the leather, the stitching quality, and the overall non-sleek shape give those away as fakes.

In London last week I saw at least a dozen pairs of Louboutins being worn: Asian girl wearing an amazing gold pair of Trotinette ankle boots with 6 inch heel (wish I had complimented her) near Marble Arch, several sightings on Oxford street, one in Selfridges (not including several being tried on in the shoe department), one an employee of Brown's in South Molton Street, a customer in Moda in Pelle, several Asian girls sat singly outside the pub at the end of South Molton Street, a Porsche employee exiting their building somewhere in or near Bourdon Street wearing an amazing pair of at least 160mm high heels, as well as several sightings near Holborn, and several more at various times on the tube in and around central London, as well as several sightings late evening at London Bridge station (one waiting to go into the club there). Beware that both Faith and River Island (maybe even New Look too) have at least one red-soled shoe on sale at the moment, and I saw a few of those out in the wild too.

Another designer with heels for men; quite low, but still heels:

In that case, even if the heels are 14 cm high, to wear them they would be like an 11 cm heel on a size 7 shoe; not quite the excessive difficulty originally suggested by the title.
Most designer heels do not go up to that shoe size, again reinforcing the fact that these are copies; and as with most copies, the heels are usually lower than the designer version.
Let's see this done with someone trying real 160mm heels with a size 6 or 7. :-)
.
A bit lower, but another fun roadtest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OSyaAH_pcg
This would be a great roadtest: http://ninistyle.net/2009/02/24/first-time-wearing-the-ysl-tribute-pump/

We lost "Bay Trading" several years ago - along with Ravel, Saxone, Dolcis, Stead and Simpson, Barratts, and several others. Did gain Office though.

I was in London the day before that.
Maybe next time?

Louboutin strikes again.

Designer heels mentioned in lots of different stories on this site:

If those have a 14 cm heel, then she has very big feet! The angle of the arch suggests nothing like that height: maybe the original designer version had that height, but these copies are much lower. Additionally, the designer version may have even been more comfortable too.

This lady likes her Louboutins, and mentions Marni and Alaia in recent messages too:

Those Bordello shoes look very similar to some of the designs of Natacha Marro: http://www.natachamarro.com/
In particular, they are very similar to the "Betty" model.
