  1. Hi Roz,

Day 34 is a collection of Victoria's Secret models at the opening of the Victoria's Secret Lexington Avenue Flagship Store in New York City on December 2nd.

Models are from L to R Selita Banks (wearing Christian Louboutin Patent Pump), Marisa Miller (wearing Christian Louboutin Very Prive in Gold), ??????? (wearing Louboutin Pumps), Heidi Klum (also wearing Christian Louboutin Very Prive), Alessandra Ambrosio and Doutzen Kroes.

That's one heck of a collection of legs!

  2. Well, I had some time Thursday evening and decided that I needed to get out for a little bit. I had some mail to drop in the box and I needed to get some gas in my vehicle for a trip today. I decided that I'd wear my ankle boots again. I was going to wear some thin socks with them (the temperature was going to be close to freezing and I wanted to keep my feet warm), but they were just too bulky, so I opted for pantyhose instead. There's been some discussion on this in another thread, so I'll just move on. As I decided to leace the house for my vehicle, I heard a number of kids just up the street from me, running around and having a good time. About 10 minutes earlier, they were running up and down the street in front of my place so I was concerned that they could return at any moment. I took a quick walk across the sidewalk and hopped in my vehicle without them seeing me or coming any closer. Off to the post office, which was quite uneventful. A short walk from my vehicle to the drop box and back is all that happened. No one was anywhere near and all I could hear was the click of my heels. WOW! Next stop, the gas station to fill up (which I've never done before in heels). It wasn't too busy. There were two cars leaving when I pulled in, so I waited until they left before getting out and walking around to the other side of the truck (since they had to pass the driver's side). I figured this would be a good night since it was a holiday here in the US and there wouldn't be a lot of people out and about, especially big trucks, since thie gas station is also a mini-truck stop along an interstate highway. I should have just gotten back in the truck when I couldn't get my credit card to work the first time in the gas pump. It took 3 times for the card reader to recognize my card and then I couldn't read the display because the backlight wasn't working. It felt like I was standing there for an eternity pushing the buttons before the pump finally started up and let me fill up. OK, panic now over, or so I thought. The whole time, I stood there (in almost 6" heels) watching the traffic drive by on the nearby highway. It really felt great. It was like I was on top of the world (maybe it was the height of the heel doing that?). After finishing up, I waited for my receipt for quite a long time, but it never came out. Now I wasn't sure if my gas had actually been paid for. Talk about a quick change in how I felt. Now I was faced with a decision. Assume that the gas had been paid for on my card (the sign says it won't pump without using a credit card at the pump or a cash prepay in the store), or walk into the store and ask for a receipt to make sure that it was really paid for. After thinking about it, I figured that it had to be paid for or the gas would not have pumped. I just couldn't muster the courage to walk into the store in heels. I had hoped that this would be a really laid back adventure, but my heart was really pumping for a while when I wasn't sure if I should go into the store. Anyone else ever have any outings take a turn for the worse?

  3. Hi Bladerunner,

No conspiracy. I simply love (as my username suggests) heels, and tend to frequent a lot of celebrity sites to see what the latest ones are wearing. Some of them really catch my eye, as I said in a few previous posts, but I have a hard time with some as well (as my blunder with Reese Witherspoon last week proved).

Is there a conspiracy going on here???

i want to know NOW how trolldeg and hhlover have got sooo many right answers...i can never find jack ....!!!!

think i need to start brushing up on some celeb sites.

still very proud of my one solitary point!!!!

keep up the good work Roz

  4. Well, in the beginning, my wife wasn't too thrilled, but she didn't get all bent out of shape over it. Sometimes she even played along with it and let me wear them around the house. That has all changed recently and has brought our marriage to a screeching halt. We spoke about it a few weeks ago and she feels that my wearing heels makes me "less than a man" and that she needs to get out of our marriage. 14 years is a long time, not an eternity, but still a decent chunk of time. I'm still not sure if I'm upset by it. It does bother me, but if wearing heels makes her think less of me, then I guess it's time to end it. Anyway, I envy all of you who has a supportive spouse since my experience has been a very bad one, especially of late.

  5. what does it feel like wearing heels outside for the first time?

It's really quite a feeling. It can be very exciting, lots of butterflies in your stomach, but it can also make you feel a little uptight. You might be thinking "What if someone I know sees me?" which really gets your heart pumping.

I'm just getting started in my adventures, but I can tell you that it can be quite a thrill.

  6. Nah! I don't believe it. I think I've seen more heels over the past year than in previous ones. In fact, I've seen more heels at work in the last two years than in all previous years combined. If you look at the number of celebs and their increasing heel heights, I think we're seeing an upswing in heel wearing. I hope it continues!

  7. Great post! Thanks for sharing! I had planned on going out last evening for a trip to the post office and to put some gas in my vehicle, but the weather worked against me as we had some snow and I ended up staying at home (5+ inch heels and snow don't mix well). Reading your post made up for my missed attempt last evening.

  8. HHLover, I find it interesting that you had trouble driving in heels. Maybe it because the car was a place that I had the vast majority of my early heel experiences, I've never had a bit of trouble driving with heels on. In fact, it kind of makes you drive properly, using the ball of your foot for the accelerator and brake, the way it supposed to be done )or at least that is how the professionals say to do it). Even in my very early experiences, I do not recall having a problem with heels and driving. Just an observation......please do not take as criticism.

    Hi RonC,

    No criticism taken.

It was difficult because of the heel height. My foot was just at such a strange angle because the heel was almost 6" high. I started to get used to it after a while, but it was just such a different experience for me.

I always do drive with the ball of my for on the accelerator and brake, but I'm so used to having my heel in *GASP* flats (such as sneakers) firmly planted on the floor. Having that "high" heel there just threw things way out of whack.

  9. Well, IMHO, height and style are not mutually exclusive. I love the height, but if it's an ugly shoe, height doesn't matter since I wouldn't wear it. Also, it could be a beautiful shoe, but if there's no height to the heel, then it's probably a no-go on that as well. I think that for me, they both need to be there, but since I had to choose one, I chose height.

  10. Great thread! Sorry if this turns out to be a long reply. As for me, I tend to keep my heeling private, but in the past several weeks have started to venture outside the house, mainly around the house and not out in the street. However, this past weekend, I decided to stretch things a little bit. Friday evening after dark, I decided to take my ankle boots with me and change into them in the truck when I got away from the house. I proceded to drive around for almost 2 hours, wearing them while I drove. What a challenge driving in heels! I now have a real appreciation for how difficult it can be. The only time I got out during my trip was to walk to the mailbox outside the post office in a neighboring town (maybe about 20 feet to the box). I dropped my letters in and returned to my vehicle with only a single person looking out the shop window next to the post office to see who had pulled up. Other than that, the short walk was uneventful. But, what a feeing! It was such a rush to be out in public walking in my heels. I wished that I could have stayed out longer. The trip home was really quite normal except for when I got to my house. The next door neighbor was just pulling in 2 cars down from me, so I decided to drive around the block to give him enough time to get in the house before I got out. Unfortunately, there was no changing out of my boots as I had decided to take the locking ankle straps instead of the ones that just buckled on. I had no choice but to walk in from my vehicle wearing my boots. I did and again it felt wondeful. I enjoyed it so much that I did a repeat performance Saturday evening as well. The only difference was that instead of changing onto my heels in the truck, I actually wore them out of the house and walked to my vehicle parked in front of my house (after carefully looking both ways down the street to make sure that no one was coming). I had never done that before. Again, it was quite exciting (and as the night before, I decided to use the locking ankle straps instead of the plain buckling ones). So now, not only was I out in heels, but I had no other shoes with me to change into, nor could I change into different ones even if I had them with me. Just as the previous evening, I had a few pieces of mail to drop, so I made another trip to the same mailbox. The difference from the previous night was that it was a little earlier in the evening and this time a very bright light on the front of the building was still on, illuminating the entire area. I would now be walking in what could be considered almost broad daylight since the light was so bright. I quickly jumped out before I could change my mind and walked to the mailbox, dropping my letters in and then taking a quick look around while spinning on the balls of my feet. Other than a few vehicles passing by on the street, it was another uneventful walk. Since I was wearing my jeans, very little of the heel could be seen (my jeans stopped about 2" above the ground). Unless the passing vehicles actually concentrated on my walk (which is somewhat mincing in almost 6" heels), they'd never even know that I was anything other than someone just walking away from the mailbox. As I continued my drive, I thought of pulling into a gas station along the interstate to fill up the tank, but when I looked at the station, there were an awful lot of vehicles waiting there, both cars and big trucks alike. Unfortunately, it was far too busy there for me to take my first stroll in front of people. I'll have to wait for another time to do that. The rest of the trip back home was again, uneventful. I pulled in and minced my way into the house with no one around. While some of you might think that this probably wouldn't even be considered street heeling, for me it was a great step (pardon the pun). I really hope to be able to continue my trips outside, as they were really a great source of excitement for me. I will say one thing, driving that much in heels really made my legs sore today. Even that is an exciting feeling, knowing why they are so sore.

  11. Yes, I've done it. I've worn some of my higher pumps to bed and have done my ankle boots as well as my ballet boots. As others have said, usually after several hours I wake up and need to take them off because of pain. Even so, it is really a great feeling.
