  1. Perhaps an informal membership gained simply by posting a photo of your heels in a Costa.

Might be a way to encouarage a public heel wearing experience and lets face it everyone has access to a Costa.

we could have a basic membership for block heels or cone heels ( that’s me for example) with progression to advanced membership if you post pics of stilettos ( like maninnoots)Here’s the Costa I joined the Costa Click Club at

  2. I know what you mean but heels do sound to me to have a slightly different sound.  Almost not just a click but an additional more hollow sound.

This is an important point actually as it’s almost impossible to hide the distinctive noise as anywhere you go you will encounter hard surfaces. So it’’s important to consider that if your bothered somewhere busy will mean this is less noticeable. Additionally you have to be as comfortable and confident as you can be.

  3. Yes She looked up as she heard the click. I could see a look of slight puzzlement because the only female nearby was my Wife and she was standing still and in flat shoes.

Then it seemed to dawn on her that the click was me walking. She didn’t seem bothered but obviously “the penny dropped” that the click was me not my Wife and she just carried on shopping.

I think it would be hard to avoid the click as heels make a sound that’s not even similar to the sound made by a traditional leather soled mans style shoe.

To be honest tiled floors and boards do make more obvious heel noise but I quite enjoy that.

It is like Cali says “own the click”

    Exactly own it, enjoy it

  4. Had a day off today so after a few things I had to do first. Having1865267073_Costa2.thumb.JPG.10a70f2bb4b31150b5d7044ed462d461.JPG been inspired by the thread to make my own "Costa Visit", although not in snake skin stilettos. My trip was in black 2" cone heel ankle boots. Enjoyed a leisurely americano before strolling out and across to the car.

This evening had to pop down to our local TK Maxx with my Wife to collect an order. Sadly not the new stilletto ankle boots she's bought me, these are being delivered in the post and haven't arrived yet. My wife went in first and I followed along 10 minutes later. As I walked up to her she was crouched down browsing a low shelf as I approached she looked up saying  " I knew it was you I could hear your heels"!

One funny moment was as we were shopping my Wife was standing at a rail and I walked up to her, a woman nearby looked a bit confused by the sound of heels when the woman near her was standing still, she then looked at me and I'm not sure if it dawned on her that the heel noise was from me but if it dis she just continued unphased browsing the rail.

We both enjoyed looking around including the shoe section although neither of us saw any that either interested us in our sizes.

  6. I use both depending a however physiotherapist will advise that a bag over only one shoulder should be avoided to achieve good back care. Think it depends on the weight really, a back pack is more comfortable for anything heavier. Here in the UK you see many people heading to work with a retro style back pack like the ones in the photos, often new from designers made to that style.

My experience of courier bags is if they are made for the job (cycling) then they are made from materials that quickly wear your clothes where the bag sits. A courier bag is easier to get at your stuff though as you can slide it to the side or front of you. I suppose it depends on the weight your going to carry and if you'llbe in heels as one style might be more practical and easier to handle.

  7. That's very true, might need to keep an eye open. I had a really nice pair of bronx lace up boots years ago. Hardly ever wore them and my Wife didn't like them. I regret giving them to charity shop now but it illustrates your point. Whoever bought them got a bargain.

They had too high a heel for me but I should have kept them to "graduate" into. Trouble was because they were too high I couldn't wear them at the time and she didn't like the colour, a very pale brown and the toe was very pointy. So they had a more extreme fetish look than an everday shoe. I have tried everywhere to find a similar style with a true lace up closure but a lower heel without any success. Charity shop is a good idea. The only similar ankle boots  I've seen so far are all synthetic uppers wheras theses were genuine leather.

  8. If they fit it would be good, depends on the width though but at the price it's worth trying. Plus TK Maxx never quibble on any return in my experience. The only reason I couldn't get a refund is if they were worn outside and if they don't fit then that's not an issue.

I will try to post a picture but might be a while as they are a bit higher than I normaly would wear. I have a similar ankle boot with a lower stiletto and I haven't mastered those well enough yet for anything but a short outing. That's one reason I'm on the lookout for an ankle boot with a kitten heel style. When she liked these and suggested buying them though I thought it was worth it as ankle boots are my preferred style and I will always have use for them.

  9. Haven't posted on this for some time so I thought I should post something. Last night we decided to have an Indian takeaway, ordered then drove down to collect it. We had to wait for it to be finished so we sat in the restaurant waiting. I'd worn my go to heeled ankle boots with a 2" cone heel. Sorry for the picture quality, it was very bright in the waiting area, I'm suprised the photo didn't come out better.1862730578_HeelsIMG_0864(2).thumb.jpg.215c989160a4f09c3209ed0189f78ef1.jpg

Well to be correct my Wife has bought them for me, She was browsing the TK Maxx website last nigh and then showed them to me, She said "what do you think of these ,they are leather and they have them in an 8  shall I get them for you?" I of course agreed to her suggetsion.

    ECCO

    Black Leather Boots

    £26.00

    RRP £120.00

    Save £94 (78%)

In black, this pair of black boots is perfect for everyday use, complete with a side zip.

    • Upper: Leather. Inner: Leather & Textile. Sole: Synthetic
    • Heel Height: 3.5" / 9cm
Of course they may be too narrow, we were going to buy a larger size as well then return any that don't fit but 8 was the largest size available , toe appears to be an almond shape so I'm hoping they fit ok. If they do I'll post more photos later. For £26 for Ecco boots it seemed mad not to try them and TK Maxx will take them back, providing they have not been worn outside.

  11. I  remember buying my first  pair of heels. Probably like a lot of people I bought what I wanted not what I should have bought something to start with. They were a pair of 4 to 5" stiletto heeled lace up bronx ankle boots in a light tan colour.

I showed my Wife who didn't know I was even  interested in heel wearing  with a very casual "look what I've bought myself". To which she replied " why have you bought those?" I thought will this is a big setback so I said " I want to have some high heels, don't you want me to wear them?" Without hesitation she replied "I don't mind you wearing heels,  just not those ones". I asked her why and she told me "they are too high for a start you'll never be able to walk properly in them . You need to start with something lower and I don't really like the style or colour. Why don't we have a look for something more suitable together" !

You can imagine I went from being disappointed at  her  initial reaction to feeling very supported less than two seconds later. After that she chose some more suitable lower heels that she liked.  She never did like the lace up Bronx ankle boots and to be truthful she was correct they would have been too high and so I never would have been able to wear them in any practical sense. Ironically I've searched high and low for a genuine lace up (not side zip with cosmetic laces) ankle boot with a lower heel for ages without success.

From there we've progress and she dosen't mind me wearing heels the only thing limiting me is my own self doubt that I'm overcoming as time goes on.

  12. Probably best they are faux snakeskin. Here in the UK I'm certain you'd attract more negative comments and hostility from having boots made of real skin than from wearing the heels themselves.

  13. I'ts good to have a regular coffee shop were you have a rapport with the staff. Not easy to find away from the independent shops. Many of the big chains change staff regularly and often serve coffee that's not that good. I used to go in a small shop each morning before work and there were a few of us, all doing different jobs who would meet each other for coffee. Sadly they opened a Cafe Nero across the road from it. That killed the trade and it had to close. I've struggled to find anywhere with the atmosphere or the quality of coffee since then.

  14. They look good with that colour jean, the heel height is a good height, a stiletto but still good for everyday wear.  I have some black boots very similar height and toe shape to these and the noise on a hard surface especially in a place like M&S would be very noticable. I'm not sure I could pull it off, maybe in a lower tapered heel but not those boots. Fair play to you, your confidence and style is to be admired.

  15. I imagine the Costa staff will be getting a real interest in your "boots or shoes of the day" so to speak. There is usually at least one staff member, usually female who appreciates an alternative style and enjoys seeing what that days trend is. I used to go each Saturday to a local Starbucks always with that weekends  coloured nail polish on. One lady there always would check the colour and even ask the details, name make etc  if it was a colour she wanted for herself. I can see it won't be long before your boots and shoes are having a similar effect.
