  1. They look good. I'm now thinking I need some new boots, haven't bought any for a while now
  2. Tonight went out for a meal, wearing my Ralph Lauren ankle boots with 3 1/2" heels. We went straight from work so I was wearing more formal dark coloured trousers the boots went well with these though. Enjoyed a nice meal before walking back through town to the car.
  3. Yes, shame they have started to close a bit earlier but I'm sure I will find somewhere better. Tonight after the gym I bought a few thing at the supermarket then went to get takeaway fish and chips. Wearing the go to 55mm heel ankle boots.
  4. My Wife texted me and asked me to pick up some milk on the way home tonight. I called in to a small supermarket to pick this up wearing my Ralph Lauren ankle boots with a 3 1/2" heel paired with denim jeans. I haven't worn these for a while so I noticed how different they were to walk in compared to my lower heels. By the time I had walked from the car across the park I'd got the hang of it again. These heels are very quiet, so no noticeable heel noise but they are clearly visible below the jeans because of the slightly higher heel. I felt confident though as I shopped around the store and stood in the queue to pay. There were plenty of other customers who may well have noticed the boots but to be honest I couldn't say as I wasn't taking any notice. Dissapointingly my regular coffee stop has started closing at 7pm and so I now don't get there early enough to call off before they've closed. Looks like I'm going to have to find an alternative venue for a post commute coffee.
  5. Tonight’s brief excursion was to do a quick bit of shopping in Iceland,(frozen food supermarket if your not familiar). Wearing 55mm cone heeled ankle boots. Then to fill up car with fuel before heading home.
  6. Good look the stiletto heel with jeans.
  7. In the end wore some 3" cone heels, we shopped around the supermarket before collecting a takeaway.
  8. I don’t think I will get chance for coffee tonight as I’m meeting my Wife in town. Shopping and a takeaway, which heels to wear though? Undecided as yet.
  9. Called in for a quick coffee on the way home tonight.

    Outings

I believe people will notice the question is does it matter if they do. My last outing in heels was at a very busy motorway services, hundreds of people walking about around me. I can’t see that my heels were not seen by someone during the time I was there. The point is I wasn’t looking around for this and if someone at a nearby table laughed during their conversation I didn’t assume it was about my fashion choices. I’ve been lucky because being in heels with my Wife’s support has boosted my confidence. I’m not saying I’m 100% comfortable in any situation but I am realising that it’s not a big a deal to people that I expected it to be.
  11. I like those especially with jeans. It’s a style I would wear. I actually also like the pale coloured sole on the boots, that I think compliments a heeled shoe or boot very well.
  12. Yes we just wandered around and did everything that we would normally do. The only difference was I had to take smaller steps and walk more slowly due to the heels.
  13. Thanks, the second services was packed, very busy and noisy. Not the most relaxing stop off but we managed to relax a bit even if we could only manage to eat a burger and get Starbucks coffee! Still you can’t get a relaxed artisan coffee shop experience at a packed motorway services. My Wife wasn’t at all bothered that I was wearing heels but then again she was the one who found them on the website and suggested we buy them. The toe is almond but still fairly narrow. Minimal noise with these particular boots but the background noise was so loud as to be unbelievable. It was still good though to get some heel wearing in during day to day activities and with so much public exposure.
  14. We drove back home yesterday stopping of at the motorway services twice on the way. I was wearing my Ralph Lauren ankle boots with a 3 1/2” heel, zips up both sides. We stopped at one Services for an hour where we wandered around browsing in the various shops as well as having something to eat. After eating we went and sat in the Starbucks as that was all that was on offer in terms of coffee choices. we relaxed back in some comfortable seats to have a decent break from the car. The heels on my boots were very clear to see and it was very busy, probably the busiest public space I’ve worn heels in to date. I was surprised how easily I managed to drive in the boots but they didn’t present any problems. I’ve attached photos of the boots, apologies as the photos are not the best quality.
  15. These particular boots although only 2” have a heel that would certainly be considered a feminine style due to the shape of the heel. Must say though they are very wearable heels.
  16. They have a side zip on the inside, almond toe and cone heel so very wearable. I may wear my Ralph Lauren boots home with the 3 1/2 “ heel. Again these heels are not leather covered. so not damaged by driving. These ankle boots have side zips on both sides of the boot. I may have to change to the lower heels if driving isn’t comfortable but I think I should be ok.
  17. To be truthful I don’t particularly want to be noticed. I’m a confident person but have never worn fashions that turn heads nor have I ever wanted to. I’m sure someone might see that my footwear is not what you would normally see men wearing. If they do see then that’s ok, I’m not trying to get noticed I just like wearing the footwear I wear and want to wear it when I want to. All I would hope is not to attract negative attention or ridicule as although I could ignore such narrow mindedness I do think it would diminish the enjoyment of wearing heels.
  18. This weekend on Sunday we travelled to see some friends before Christmas. I chose to wear my black ankle boots with a 2” heel as these are comfortable to drive in. Additionally they don’t have a leather covered heel so aren’t damaged by the heel against the mat on the floor of the car. we stopped for coffee at two motorway services along the way. Despite the heel noise I don’t think anyone noticed the heels. Or if they did I wasn’t aware of them. It was a good chance to just wear heels in everyday situations. Those are nice boots and I like the height and heel shape. I need to look out for some tan ankle boots.
  19. Building Stiletto Confidence Tonight I paid a quick visit into Starbucks, the first time on a tiled floor since my recent slip. I paid particular attention to what I as doing especially on the tiled areas. Managed ok and sat down to enjoy an americano for fifteen minutes before going back to the car and completing my commute. I'm not sure what the rest of the weekend will bring but hopefully further opportunities to get some heel time in. I'm glad the heel s on the boots have survived the recent slip, they seem undamaged. I have noticed that because they are a chelsea boot design with the elasticated panel in the side they are not as secure and snug a fit which for a novice wearer of a stiletto heels is possibly not the best choice?. The more recent stiletto boots by Ecco that I bought are a snug but feel secure and comfortable when wearing them. They are 1/2" higher than the boots in the photos here so I have tended to wear the lower heel but I'm actually wondering if the other, Ecco boots might be better for a novice?
  20. Thanks I will have a look at the site you mention.
  21. Thanks for the advice, I’ll give that a go this weekend. Last night when we popped out I wore a wider heel so didn’t get any chance for further practice. This weekend I might get the opportunity to wear a stiletto heel again, in which case I will try that technique.
  22. Anyone who ran 40 plus consecutive marathons with no training and an ice cream van as support vehicle like Eddie Izzard did would probably survive being burned at the stake.
  23. Thanks that's very useful advice. I suspect that may be exactly what happened as I think I was walking with too big a stride and was also turning 90 degrees to go out of the door when it happened. No slips tonight though during the walk across town wearing my stilettos to where the car was parked.
