Heelster, Dr Shoe. Thanks for adding your 'mis-hearings' to my line. Would it be possible for you to add what the line should actually be as to me that seems to be the whole point of the subject and in both cases you have quoted I have no idea which songs/lines they refer to. Cheers guys.

The 'name that song' topic set me thinking about a story I heard some years ago on the radio when a woman phoned in to ask about the line of a song. The song was Janis Joplin's 'Lord Won't You Buy me a Mercedes-Benz. The line of the song that is
My friends all drive Porsches the woman thought was My friends all ride horses
She wondered why the line did not seem to make sense.

I would have thought that with the amount of money she earns Katy could have afforded to buy the whole dress not just half of it.

Don't worry about them anymore. In the past most I made had been broken before Jan 1 was over.

Haven't been into 'it' for almost 20 years. One of the most boring days of the year if you are single as everythings shut here in Oz, including the 'pubs' in this state.

Does ANY of this pseudo-political diatribe have anything to do with the original comment? I really don't think so. To me it looks like one persons personal view on the world. Let's keep politics right out of the group. No doubt ilikekicks will now ask, as I live on the other side of the world, what I know about what goes on in the US.

I recently read that the playing of a new role required Karen to shave her head and she is now as bald as a billiard ball.

I think you will find that the picture of 'Clara' shown here is not 'real'. It a photoshopped effort with her face put onto another body. The same picture appears on 'Slicknshiny, where it admits this.

Actually Amanda, since my birthplace is Wales, I guess that makes it a Welsh, or at least British, sense of humour.

Does a pair of trainers count?

I must agree Dr Shoe. I found it a little difficult to follow in places. I used to watch the show religiously but dropped off as I found some of the later doctors not to my taste for the role. Have to agree with Kittyinboots about the choice of clothing the 'assistants' wear. I also recall the days of Tom Baker and seem to remember that at one time his 'assistant' Who may have been called Leila or Laila (and was in real life The girlfriend of Tom Baker) giving him a fashion show after discovering a wardrobe full of clothes in the TARDIS. It might be nice if the new girls rediscovered this wardrobe. On a final point, does anyone out there recall what the initials of the TARDIS stand for?

Welcome to Kansas! Reminds me of something that occurred several years ago here in Oz when an aircraft crew member said on the plane arriving at its destination from a southern State 'Welcome to Queensland. Turn your watches back a century'. I belive she was reprimanded and suspended.

Down here in Oz it is normally referred to as a 'holiday', which I believe derives from the time when the days were called 'holy days'.

Here, Here lunvheels.
Sorry!! I think that should have been HEAR HEAR. luvnheels, why is it that our Government's 'Quit' campaign never says 'The best way to quit is not to start?' Would probably cost the Government too much in lost taxes is my guess as the reason.

Is this it, or is there more to come? If this is all there is it is a very strange story with almost no beginning and no end.

In reference to #14 I seem to recall that many years ago British comedians Peter Cook and Dudley Moore starred in a movie based on this very idea.

Ah! Now Isla Fisher I have heard of. Maybe its because she is Australian and got her start in a soap-opera. I don't recall her looking like this though. If I recall she spent most of the show in a drab school uniform.

I'm afraid I must make much the same comment. At least 90% of these people listed as 'celebrities' I have never heard of. Maybe I'm in the wrong age bracket and don't watch the right TV shows.

What accent? She sounds quite normal to me.

To hide bloodshot eyes after drinking too much alcohol the night before!!

Must say I agree with Richy on one point here. I am also losing a lot of interest in the site because it seems dominated by the 'men in heels' subject. Of course I cannot tell whether these men actually wear heels or like us to think they do. Perhaps Oz is behind the times because I have NEVER seen a male wearing heels down here (In fact it is getting harder to find a female wearing heels in this city). As for the subject of ads and ad-blockers. Yes the ads annoy the hell out of me but I am just an ignoramous when it comes to computers and do not even have any idea of what an 'ad-blocker' is, let alone knowing how to use it to disable ads, so I put up with the ads.

I realise Steinmann was the man behind the songs, it was his idea and songwriting but the songs still had to be performed by someone to bring them to 'life'. Having thought about things I also greatly enjoyed listening to CCR's Cosmos Factory and Bette Midler's 'The Divine Miss M'. As you can see I am a fan of 'popular' rock. Unfortunately the majority of the bands listed here I have never heard of. Perhaps most are best known in either the US or UK.

Gotta be Meatloafs 'Bat Out of Hell'. The only album I have ever listened to where every song was brilliant. Pity he never reproduced that effort.
Mis Heard Song Lines

Have just thought of one from my own past. Never much of a Beatles fan, for many months after its release, and I cannot even recall the name of the song, Until corrected I thought the line 'I'll never dance with another' was 'I'll never dance with her mother'.
