  1. I will be going to Vegas for the first week of January with my wife. I can't decide which shoes to take with me. I plan to spend the entire week in heels. My wife wants me to push the envelope farther than I do here at home. She wants me to wear my 5" black patent Betsy Johnson spikes with ankle strap and pink soles. She wouldn't mind if I wore a skirt or my kilt too. CJ

  2. Don't miss the 1970's when heels were back for men. I have never attended a heelmeet but wear heels in public often for the last month or two. I keep it to boots with a large block heel or my patent round-toe mary janes (in my avatar) but would love to try my stilettos but haven't become that brave yet. I would love to see heels created for men. I like them high so 4" would be my dream, in a men's style but not necessarily block heel. Good luck o your thesis and feel free to contact me if you need anything. CJ

  3. Anyone able to tell me how the sizes run? I am a US Women's 10.5 but have to select 10 or 11s due to the lack of 10.5s available. Do Elite shoes run large or small so I can select a 41 or 42 depending. Thanks! CJ

  4. I wear the MJs in my avatar out all the time now. I do feel the patent attracts attention. I have a pair or Sketchers tan 4" heel boots that look like workboots. With my long leg jeans, I have no second thoughts about wearing them out. The look like men's boots, except for the heel. The MJs I do worry about others but I am trying to harden up and not care. I have been going to the mall and other places in them with my wife and I don't take any other shoes so I can't chicken out. So far, a few odd looks, mostly from retired age people, but no negative words or such. A dress shop where my wife shops was fun when the girls noticed and asked lots of questions. I got the impression, they thought it was interesting, not good or bad. CJ

  5. I just got back from a walk around the neighborhood in the new shoes. Our walk is 2 miles and let me tell you, these heels were as comfortable as my tennis shoes, except my steps are shorter. The balls of my feet had no pain at all and the shoes are just unbelievably comfortable. These may become my new favorite walking shoes. CJ

  6. I just got these from Nine West today (Bought at DSW) in 10.5 US Womens.

These are SO comfortable they feel almost like flats to me. The suede covering doesn't attract attention like my patent shoes and my wife things they look like a mens shoe, just with a 4 1/2" heel (1/2" hidden platform).

Haven't worn them out yet but will later tonight and all day tomorrow.

  7. I am lucky to have US Women's size 10.5 feet. I wear 10 or 11 depending on the shoe and almost all makes have those sizes available. They are also likely to be on sale as all the 'regular' sizes sell out faster. My wife wears a 5.5 to 6 making it harder for her to find shoes than me. I do admire her tiny cute little feet. We can both wear 5" heels equally as well but in reality, it is MUCH higher for her short feet. CJ

  8. We laugh at the reaction my wife gets wearing heels (4") in the Disney parks. They don't realize that many locals just go for a meal or to a shop at Epcot and don't stay more than an hour. Some of the people you see may also be employees dressed for work walking through the park going to a meeting or such.

  9. I have a pair of bootcut jeans with longer legs then usual and I can wear my blockheel boots (4") with them and they cover the heel except a little peek when I walk (1/2-1") or when I sit. No one ever notices except my wife who says I stand straighter and walk better. CJ

  10. You see it in TV and movies all the time. Songs on the radio, in the pages of novels and magazines. A certain percentage of women "love" heels and shoes. It is totally acceptable for a woman to have a shoe fetish. Sex in the City made it a plotline. Why is it society cannot understand that, just as a certain percentage of women are in love with heels, a certain percentage of men will feel the same? I cannot explain what it is about them but I am facinated, distracted by, enamored, insert your own verb, by the sight of a woman in heels. People collect things they are interest in...coins, models, stamps...and shoes! Why is it when a man wants to collect (and wear) something as beautiful as a well designed high heel, it is considered strange? It's a shoe that will fit the foot of a woman or man just the same. Why are men relegated to dull design and choice of 2 black, blue or brown in our shoes? Sorry if this has been discussed before. I am just really tired of the state of men's fashion. Everything is a slight change to pants, shorts, shirts or jackets. Women have skirts, dresses, various tops, leggings, belts scarfs and cinchers, corsets, stockings, makeup, and more. They can even wear men's clothes without a second look from society. Talk about the duller sex (fashion wise). I am a shoe-aholic (heels only). I love women's shoes. Why is this wrong? (I don't think it is) CJ

  11. I have seen heel stretchers in Ballet supply stores. I find the only way is to make sure the shoes keep your feet in the stretched position. Nothing but boots will do that. My ballet boots have not arrived yet but I have 5" boots that keep my foot stretched fully. I have slept in them but they get warm. I walk around the house in my 5.5" heels for about an hour making sure to stand (not sit). Then I can put on 4,5 or 5" heels and they feel very comfortable and I can walk very well in them. As they say..practice, practice, practice...

  12. Haven't injured myself wearing heels but my heels help wit my injury. I shattered both my feet, heel and left leg. All is well not over 10 years later but my feet feel much better after a day in 4" heels than in flats. My ankle will be sore the morning after a whole day of walking around town in flats. In heels, I am totally fine the next day...no soreness or pain.

  13. Happyfeet and I are the same age and feel the same. I am 41 (last month) but feel 25. I look 30 and lost a bunch of weight over the past 2 years so I feel great. Bought some new jeans last weekend and the waist is 31". I was in 44" just a couple years ago. I got the 32" legs even though I wear 28". They fit perfect with my 4 or 5" heels, covering most if not all of the heel. Walking lets the heel peak out and sitting exposes most of the heel. As I get braver, I actually try to expose them to people to see their reaction. Don't do that too often yet. CJ
