  1. Sounds like you don't have parents that have strict expectations and would never understand. Why put them through the mental turmoil on top of the death? I wear heels with friends. Never around parents or family that might 'leak' it to my parents. Cassie

  2. I posted in another thread but I though I would let you know in your thread... My wife did a couple of photo shoots this weekend for an upcoming catalog. During one of them, she walked around in ballet boots for about 30 minutes and had no problems. We kept an arm close, just out of camera range, in case she needed to steady herself. She did a few times but everyone was amazed how well she could walk around on them. I will post some pics soon once we get them from the photographer.

  3. My wife had a couple of photo shoots this weekend and ended up walking in ballet heels for about 30 minutes on one of them. For the most part, she could get along on her own but we were close to catch her if she faltered. With the other props and stuff, she did almost fall a couple of times but we gave her an arm to gram to steady herself. I will post a link to the images when they make it online.

  4. I had posted about my heeling in Vegas. I wore black leather bootie like heels that look like a men's shoe from the front. Has a 4" stelitto heel. No one notices and the one guy that did seemed to want to wear heels based on his questions. Cassie

  5. The first time I wore heels out I made it about 300 feet and heard from behind look that guy has on heels so I ducked into a food place and changed it was really a rush.

The best way to handle this is to let them know you heard them with a big smile. They tend to respect confidence. Show weakness and groups can become cruel.

  6. All these so-called studies ignore the fact that people like things and dislike things...period. Some men and women love heels for a variety of reasons. The researcher her obviously doesn't share our love of heels and probably feels pressured to wear them (instead of the drab crocs that keep potential dates away) by men and women. Her agenda shows through...her study was done to prove her beliefs, not to discover the truth. As a man, I feel no pressure to wear heels...in fact, quite the opposite. Despite this, I wear them because I love them. Carrie Bradshaw also wears them because she loves them. Thus, a percentage of the population loves heels and CHOOSES to wear them. She can't understand this so she blames it on men trying to control or weaken women. She needs to get a life.

  7. Since the 1500s, both men and women wore heels. They fell out of favor after the French revolution as anything showing wealth was shunned. By the late 1800s, heels made a comeback in Italy and Europe and that flowed to the US. By the mid 1900s, heels were in, but for Women only. Only in the 60s-70s during Disco did men's heels make a comeback but quickly disappeared. Now we are on the cusp of a lasting men in heels movement. From Germany to London to NYC, men are starting to wear heels in public. It is up to us to make it stick this time!

  8. Thanks for the recap. I spend most weekends in heels and go to the mall, lunch and dinner and shopping all over the place. I have my wife with me for support. I wear 4" or higher heels, sometimes with a block, sometimes a stiletto heel. Most of my public wear shoes look like men's shoes, they just have a heel. The Nine West Menswear collection is a great example. Today, I spend 6-7 hours at the outlet mall and area mall in 4" Sketchers beige boots. Under long jeans, no one can tell they aren't men's shoes unless I sit or purposefully expose the heel. Even then, many think they are men's boots, they just have a taller then usual staked block heel. I have no apprehension at all wearing these. I have a pair of Enzo 4.5" heels that look like a men's shoe with a tall stiletto heel. I wear them a lot and most people never notice. Keep us updated!

  9. This is practicality we are talking about. It makes no sense to wear yourself out walking across town to a party wearing heels when you can do it in comfort, then enjoy your heels at the event. What drives me nuts are the women at the office that wear flats (usually tennis shoes) on the way to and from the office. They get to their desks and change into heels, then change back before leaving. Since they seldom move from their desks, when we see them they are always in the flats. If I could wear heels at work and felt the need to travel in flats, I would swap at the car so I could show off my heels on the way in and out of the office. They sit all day, and often sit barefoot, so they shouldn't have any problem with a 30 second walk to and from the car.

  10. Welcome to HHPlace! I too have a supportive Significant Other. My wife wears heels almost all the time and encourages me to wear mine in private, and in public when appropriate. I wish I could wear them to work but I don't think it would go over well. Do you have any block heel boots that might work well on the farm? I have some 4" block heel Sketchers that look like a men's work boot. Heel is stacked and about 1.5" square on each side so it won't sink in soft ground. Hope you will share some of your experiences soon!

  11. Been shaving mine since last October. No one notices at all. In fact, I have started watching and I see lots of men with shaved legs. Be careful at first. You can razor burn your legs if you aren't careful. Only pass the razor over them once. Over time, they will adjust to it and you will get a smooth result. Cassie

  12. 38...lucky! I have seen so many different charts for sizing comparisons. What is correct? One says a US 11 is a Euro 42 while I saw one yesterday that said US 11 is Euro 44. Makes it impossible to mail (internet) order shoes in Euro sizes. I wear a US 10.5 normally but no idea in Euro.

  13. There are deals on hotel rooms down here in Orlando. Stick to the International Drive, Downtown (more expensive) and Disney area hotels. There are some bad areas of town you should avoid like Pine Hills, Orange Blossom Trail. Have a good time! Let me know if I can assist you with anything. Been here for 20 years.

  14. I have worn out 2 pairs of heels. A 4" black pump that the heel got loose on after 6-7 years and some white 4.5" pumps with ankle strap and zig-zag cut to the top of the sides. Those actually started peeling patent off of them and the heels got wobbly.
