Sorry, but kitten heels should be banned! As should flip flops, and tacky ballet pumps.
When I see girls or ladies in stiletto heels of less than 4 inches I just think that they can't handle anything higher, and will look away in disgust.
Anything less than 4" is an insult to the genre.
Having said that, certain more blocked heels are acceptable at lower heights, depending on the style.
we are all entitled to our opinions in the forum, streetwalker, but blatently assaulting someone's love of lower heels is just terrible.
I myself love kitten heels, they may not have that sexy look that 4" heels have, but they do have a real cuteness to them!

none of my family knows. I'm pretty sure they would not be ok with me wearing heels because they're very traditional. Only one of my friends knows too.

just bought these 4" pumps from payless not too long ago, very afraid to go out in heels though I would love to in these!

I've been considering telling my parents about my love of heels, any advice for me out there?
-
Good to know... did you ever make it out to Avenue?
I did go to the avenue! It happened to be next door to the payless! they didn't have the wedges I wanted, but I did get a great deal on their heeled loafers!

I really wanted to tell people this story! so I was shopping in a payless this evening and there was nobody on my aisle. I was trying on a pair of heels when one of the store clerks walked into my aisle. She took one look at me and smiled and said, "you know we have a purse that would look great with those! let me check to see if we have one". I laughed and said alright. Well she came back a couple minutes later and sadly told me that they were out of that type of purse. I thanked her and continued trying on shoes. loved it!

so they didn't mind you trying on shoes there?

has anyone had good shopping experiences at an avenue store? I've heard a great story about a guy shopping there, but want to ask the general population for input before I fork over money there! are the service people nice? etc. thanks a million!

I don't know if I have the courage to go out in high heels. I just think the attention would be too much for me to take! want to though so badly. I don't think I am adept enough at walking to be able to go into the world.

it was actually a ross. I bought the shoes from payless, they were low heel (1 inch) sling-back type shoe, really cute. just walked the womens section. Felt nervous at first, but then decided I loved it

I recently wore a pair of kitten pumps I got from payless on a shopping trip. they are sexy but low key for a tall guy like me, so they are great to shop in. I love kitten heels, they seem to have such a sweetness to them! I don't know why everyone must have the very high heels, but this is coming from someone who is 6'4" without heels.

yeah, I found an avenue pretty close to me, so I'm headed over there tonight! if their service is like I've heard, it'll be a great experience!

yesterday actually, age 19. low heels though. still made the clacking sound as I browsed through the shop.
-
tallguy, thanks a lot for your profound advice. I am planning my first excursion in heels this weekend, and I am very nervous about it, but also excited. I may go out in some flats tonight, but they are pretty feminine.
-
yeah, I've heard great things about cloudwalkers. not sure if there are any avenues close by, though.

what about DSW? do they carry lots of selections in large sizes?
-
I'm 19. for anyone on flickr, I started up a young crossdressers group if anyone is interested!
-
tallguy - how do you cope with those kind of looks?
-
I usually shop at payless. My last trip there I was looking at shoes with my friend who goes shopping with me usually. Well we spent quite a bit of time discussing each shoe and whether or not they would fit or look good with the outfit we were putting together on this trip. So it came down to deciding whether to try them on in the store or not and for several moments we just looked around, but decided not to do it. Next time I'm just going to try them on! and do the Frederick's stores carry their shoes in large sizes? there's a lovely pair of mary janes I would love to purchase from them!

I am 6' 3" barefoot. does anyone have an issue if they go out dressed with heels and being abnormally tall? I'm afraid I would get so many looks!

now that's something I can completely agree on!
