Style has always been more important than height to me. I'm tall enough at 6'3", so I just want the heels to look alright on me.
-
Amanda you must be a stunning looking woman!
or maybe your magic???
that's a lot better than my explanation. Keep it simple I suppose!
-
I think there are explanations that make perfect sense (for us men, anyway). Heels really accentuate the curvature and tone of a woman's legs, and for me at least, a nice-looking set of legs is very nice.
-
those are adorable! I'm a sucker for a cute pair of mary-janes.
-
oh I hope not!

thanks a lot, thatotherguy! My campus is relatively small, so heels would not be out of the question, and lots of girls here wear them (our campus is famous for women!). I think your suggestion about small trips on campus is a great idea! Do you heel on campus? What was your first time there like?
-
or mayhap even possibly the Richmond in VA?

I'm going to try and bring this back to the "college campus" topic that originally brought all this lovely debate up. Is anyone writing here actually of college age? I feel most of the posters here are older than that and was wondering about actual experiences of heeling on campus. I'm currently a college student and have been fighting myself over wearing heels out for a while now. At school a lot of my friends are very open, but I still worry what they would all think of me if I started wearing them. any thoughts? Canadian beaver, you had some heeling stories, care to elaborate?

this is definitely my avatar as well! I do need some updating though, the pic I am using is a couple years old and I want a newer one with my new favorite wedges!

"If music be the food of love, play on" I love music more than anything else in life (including heels!). In terms of musical instruments I play I have a bit of a repetoire: Electric guitar Electric Bass Percussion (mostly auxillary and keyboard, not drumset) Steel Pan Fife Love to play all of them, but the ones I'm best at are definitely Guitar and Steel Pan. I've been playing pan for two years now at school and I really want to get my own, but they are expensive (around 3K). I currently play guitar on a Schecter Damien 6 (for the budgeted college student). Chorlini, you own 11 guitars?? I'm very jealous. yay music!

I'm so tall I'd be afraid of drawing attention to myself! That makes wedges much more attractive to me, since they offer a little more secresy than stilettos or other types of heels.
-
For me personally, I'm already pretty tall, and stilettos would not look great on me (my opinion), So I like the chunkier heels and wedges a lot. I also have to wear a 12-13 (varies in brands) so payless is really MY only option.
-
I went to payless just this morning and joy of joys, it was empty! The assistant came to ask if I needed help and I kindly declined. After spending 30 minutes trying on shoes, he came back and I declined again. After deciding on my two pairs I took them up and set them on the counter: no strange looks! Bought 2 1/2 in. Mary Janes and a nice pair of 3 1/2 strappy wedges! love them!
-
I personally think #2! #1 is peep-toed as well and they're even the same height, but the 2nd just looks better in my opinion!

I was curious. do any of you all shave your legs? I've been seriously considering starting it, but want to know about any experiences/reactions about it. I started thinking about it when I wanted to buy some knee-high stockings to wear when trying on heels. anyone with advice?
-
HHD, you are an inspiration! I'm only a few years older than you, but man do I have nerve issues buying shoes! Your stories have given me the drive to go out and just get some, and screw anyone who has problems with it! Thank you!
-
it seems that most people have smaller feet than I do. I wear 12s, and it seems impossible to find them outside of payless!
-
I personally think only 2 inches and lower are flat. Anything higher are considered heels.
I'm not sure, two inches is definitely not flat, but also definitely not high.
-
those are pretty hot! love them, Chris.
-
some pictures would be great, but your commentary has been helpful as well!
-
on that note. does anyone wear women's dress pants here as a norm? I'm wondering how they would look on me so input would be really great
-
what is it like being a guy in a skirt? I'm really curious to know what drove you to give up long pants!
-
I got a similar urge this past winter, so I took off to the nearest Target and sized myself up. I wound up not buying any of the jeans I tried on, but what I did do was get my size (16T, 14T if the waistband has spandex). A short while later, I purchased a pair of ultra-basic AvenueBlues for $5 because two belt loops were missing (which cost me $3 to replace; winner, me). I've since incorporated them into my regular rotation of jeans, and to date nobody has noticed that I have on women's jeans.
How do you like avenue jeans? I've been interested in picking up a pair of jeans and maybe some nicer pants from there.

I love wearing heels just to wear them! I was more asking what the added height was like when out in public.

they certainly do have a very serious retro look going on, but paired with the right outfit, they could look really good!
