  1. It's Friday and that means a more relaxed wardrobe! Today, I decided to mix it up a little and wear a pair of heels with my jeans. We're going out after work to meet some friends for dinner so I wanted to be casual but still dressy! There's just something about heels and jeans that always seems to capture my co-workers attention! ;-) Happy Friday!!

  2. I bought a pair of Daffys, and they are so comfortable. The wider heel makes so much difference, I wore them all day today. After a couple of hours I completely forgot I was wearing them.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy them....and it sounds like you already have!!

  3. Debbie, I've been looking at a pair of these (ToTheFlo) on the Nine West website. I've read all of the reviews posted and noticed that a couple of purchaser had problems with the way the shoes fit. I really like that style and would like to buy a pair but as I wear asize 10 1/2, I question if, based on the reviews,I should order a size 11, instead. Can you give me some advice based on your experience? I would really appreciate your comments on comfort, wearability and fit.

Bubba, the NW wedges that are in my pic were purchased a couple of years ago, so I cannot speak to the fit of the current style you are looking at on the NW site. For the most part, mine are reasonably comfortable and fit true to size. Oddly enough, they are more comfortable when worn without hosiery since the lining of the shoe is very smooth and the combination with hose causes my foot to slide forward! I'd go with the size you normally wear in Nine West since I find their sizing reasonably consistent. Good luck!!

  4. debbi your killing me:). great legs and feet. size 7?. love the toe cleavage. i dont think most woman realize how sexy toe cleavage or the arch of the foot can be.....or maybe they do.

Thank you, HEELS! You know I just started posting pics for the sheer fun of it! I've been a shoe fiend all my life! Even as a child I had this thing for shoes and could never have enough...and that hasn't changed!

My DH loves legs and shoes (a marriage made in heaven) and certainly knows how sexy toe cleavage and arches can be! When he goes with me shopping, he is always picking out shoes for me to try on because he thinks they'll "look HOT"! ;-)

Anyway, here's what I'm wearing today: black patent wedges from Nine West. (they show off arches and toe cleavage)

  5. I have to agree that high arches do help when wearing heels. Mine are high and wearing heels is really no problem at all. A number of my girlfriends can't wear heels more than a few hours at a time because they are either flat footed or have very shallow arches. The main issue is finding a high heel shoe that really fits the length of your arch well. I can tell immediately after trying on a shoe whether or not it will wear well simply based on the arch length...in other words, the shoe has to bend where my foot bends! Now, I've ignored my own instincts on occasion and those shoes are the ones in the back of my closet!

  6. I was decorating the Christmas tree in my platforms today and thought I would share a picture. It sure makes it easier to reach the top of the tree (though I am fairly tall already) as well as crouch down to the lower sections.

What a hoot! See, heels are good for something other than turning heads of admirers!

  7. Thanks, HEELS2U! I'm a shoe nut anyway and posting some pics here is really fun! Plus, maybe we can get other people posting, too! The black pumps in my avatar are mine! (Oh, and those are my feet and legs too!) Here's what I'm wearing today: From Pepe Jimenez a black d'Orsay kidskin pump. These are available through Classic Pumps online and are called "Roxy". Have a great day everyone!

  8. Unfortunately, no! As you know Louboutins have weird sizing, so I have tried on everything from a 40.5 to a 41 to a 41.5 and even a 42 (my normal size is 41)! That's why I worry that Daffs would look way too heavy and clunky...but I still am attracted to them for some unknown reason!

  9. By working in a corporate environment that until a few years ago was considered "the boys club" I find wearing heels serves two purposes; one psychological and the other physical. As for the psychological, wearing a great looking pair of heels makes me feel stronger and more convincing while being secure in my femininity. Since I'm not what you would call short in stature, I love the way a pair of 4 inch heels has me eye-to-eye with most everyone in the room (and in some cases taller). That adds to confidence and in many cases credibility. As for the physical, walking in heels requires your gait to change by requiring you to walk with your chest out, tummy sucked in and hips back. All of this creates in my mind a stronger, more confident image. Thus, heels provide a power point for me!

  10. I found the Daffodiles easy to walk in once I got used to the shoes. The Altis were much harder with the extra height of the arch.

I was curious about the Pigalles with the lack of a platform, don't your feet hurt because sole isn't very thick? I thought you would feel every little pebble that you walk on.

The soles are rather thin, but most of my walking is on smooth surfaces, so it's not a problem. But I'd NEVER wear them if I had to get off a paved surface!

I know Daffs would look like horse hooves on me, but I have been fascinated with them from the beginning!

  11. Debbie, that's a great look. I like to wear black hose with bright colored heels too. I have worn red, royal blue and hot pink heels with black hose. I think that its a great look. I like to pair a similar color top, to match the color of my shoes. I have done this not only with polo shirts but with sport coats and blazers too. I have a lot of color in my wardrobe and I love to wear bright colors too.

    Happy Heeling,

    bluejay

    Thank you bluejay!

I find contrast very tricky to get right so I've always been reluctant to try black tights with bright coloured heels, but you wear those so elegantly Debbi, I may need to re-think. How did you coordinate with the rest of your outfit?

    Have a good day too!

Out of camera range I was wearing a black knit mock neck top and black skirt. With my top I had a Christmas themed scarf that had lots of red (that really matched the shoes).

  12. Got my Alti 160 spike pumps today. What a difference between the Daffodiles and the Altis.

The 20mm less platform makes the Altis seem so much higher than the Daffodiles.

And yes, I've already scratched myself and put a run in a pair of hose.

Congrats on the new Alti 160s! They are lovely! With the lower platform I would assume the pitch is similar to a Pigalle 120. I tried the 120 and the pitch killed me, so I ended up with the Pigalle 100. Have always wondered how the Daffs wear, though.

  13. Seems like it's been a while since any of the girls posted on this thread, so I thought I'd just jump in! Today, I'm wearing red pumps with black tights. The pumps are from Bakers (sad to hear about their troubles) and feature four inch heels. Have a good day everyone!

  14. I've been thinking about which shoes have been my all time favorite. As for flat shoes, several years ago I picked up a pair of ballet flats at Nine West. The style was named "Poof" (which I thought was cute) but they turned out to be my "go to" shoes almost every afternoon after work. They were soft leather with rubber soles and just felt so good! Sadly, they are pretty much near the end of their life and I've never been able to find anything that comes as close to being the ideal flat shoe. But the hunt continues...and after all, that's part of the fun!

  15. As one who wears heels most every day, one of my secrets ( from my mom who was a heel fanatic) is to let your body weight settle on your hips which will place the bulk of your weight on your heels. As Shafted mentioned above, you'll never survive heels for long periods if you place most of your weight on the balls of your feet. This is really important if you're in a situation where you'll be standing for extended periods. Shifting your weight to your heels will make a huge difference in your staying power in high heels. Also, when walking, allow the shoes to set your gait (i.e. a 5 inch heel will make you walk differently from a 3 inch heel) . Many women look awkward wearing heels because they ignore this rule. And for guys who are into heels, the same tips apply!

  16. Just to add a little something visually to the discussion about platforms, here's a photo of the Nine West platform pumps I bought last weekend. They aren't extreme by any means, but I think they are rather sexy! (Louise, I'm still rockin' them!)

  17. I just bought some platform pumps at Nine West this past weekend. Previous purchases included some platform styles but they were very modest. This time I just went for it! A one inch platform with a five inch heel! Apart from getting accustomed to the feel of the shoe, I find them as easy to walk in as my four inch heels, in fact, they may be a little easier. Everyone is different, but these are really working for me!

  18. It's definitely a matter of buying what works for you. As for me, I am pretty consistent across all shoe styles in terms of size. From heels to flats, I have only varied a half size at most across different brands but the majority of my shoes, regardless of style, are the same size. I do know that many designer shoes tend to run a little smaller. I once had my eyes on a pair of Christian Louboutins that I desperately wanted but they were nearly a full size too small...and they didn't have a larger size. ;-(( I have also bumped into that same situation with YSL and Stuart Weitzman.

  19. For starters, I freely admit that some of my heels are more comfortable than others...and it has little to do with heel height. Several years ago when heels were extremely pointed, the toe boxes were tight simply by design. I found those shoes to be more painful than the ones on the market today that are a little less pointed. Toe crowding has been the greatest source of pain for me. Even low to mid-heels with an extremely pointed toe hurt after a short period of time. I still love pointed toes, but maybe a little less on the extreme side!
