  1. OK, those are cute. But I am pretty sure that Crocs have replaced flip-flops as the choice footwear in HELL!!! And I am pretty sure that flip-flops replaced Birkenstock... I will be happy when the whole Crocs thing goes away. I can not understand why "comfortable" means "ugly!"

  2. To stretch shoes, if they are real leather, I have gone as far as taking a shower in them. Afterward stuff them with a towel. When they are dry, I rub the shoes down with oil to prevent dry rot. However, I have found trying them on first is the best bet... But be careful in the shower with heels...

  3. I buy a lot of shoes in Pennsylvania where there is not tax on clothing, with a few exceptions. Also, if you buy online and live in a state where a company has no operations, there is no sales tax.

  4. I would suggest maybe a gold open toe sling back or slide/mule with bare legs, since that is a style that you seem to like from other posts anyway. (I really like gold with green..maybe its a money metaphor, I don't know). A nice pair of patent mary janes in black, a style suggest earlier would do nicely, maybe with some off white, beige, or similar tone patterned nylons/stockings. A multicolored pump as JNR suggested would also do nicely. Since you described the dress as "flirty," I wouldn't go too over the top with the shoes. Flirty to me says that you are showing you are sexy but still holding back a little. Maybe a 4 inch heel would be enough (maybe more than enough) to project a flirty image. Just some thoughts. Of course it depends where and for what event you are putting together this outfit as well....

  5. Something that happened to me the other day really helped. I was in a store wearing men's shoes and I walked past some people. They started laughing and said something like "did you see that?" They weren't talking about me but I didn't see what they were looking at either. if I had been wearing heels, I would have taken that as directed toward me. Just goes to show that not everything we see and hear is directed at us even when we expect it is.

This is a wonderful observation. It is something worth thinking about. I have noticed, as you have said, people just simply do not notice much of anything.

On many occasions, I am disappointed at how few people actually notice...lol.

BTW, I LOVE your taste in shoes.

  6. I have noticed clerks becoming more helpful to male customers recently myself. When I started shopping for heels about 20 years ago, I would frequent Payless and other similar stores that have long since gone out of business, and though nobody would ever say anything, there was always the "long awkward silence." This was even when i was buying for a girlfriend. I would always think that they would have to be aware that I was not a size 6 or 7 in those situations. However, my best experience recently was in a discount department store. I was checking out with a pair of brown mules. When the clerk opened the box to make sure they were actually a pair, a couple of her friends walked by and started fawning over the shoes! They asked me where I found them and if they had them in their size. he clerk joined in and we had a great discussion about the styles, etc. After I checked out I went to the shoe department and helped them find the shoes and a few other pair. So, in my opinion in many of these stores, they shouldn't only view as as another sale, but as potentially hundreds of sales in the future.

  7. Wow...this is pretty fascinating. The anonymity factor that e-bay provides is a definite plus for men (or anybody for that matter) does play a huge role. I also post all of my listing as private auctions to aid in that matter. Also, I do think, that as man of you have pointed out that the size is a factor. Men buy a lot of larger sizes. However, I have been communicating with one woman who bought 11 pair form me that she said that she has a very difficult time finding shoes from many brands in her size. I then begin to think that for e-bay shoppers in general, it is kind of a one-stop-shop for hard to find items. Lets face it, US11 and 12 shoes in diverse styles takes a lot of time to find otherwise, and she was able to get 11 pair in just a few days. I also buy a few pair on e-bay, but I prefer the challenge of finding them "on the rack." But what is nice, is that you can wear them a few times and then recoup some money for them on e-bay. As one of the previous posts said, it is a great way to keep your collection fresh. As for the whole e-bay thing, I think I am hooked...at least for now.

  8. What shade of green? For a light shade, the suggested white would work, though I myself am not a fan of white shoes. I would be more likely to agree with pink, but I might also suggest a silver. As for style, I would go with sandals..fairly maked sandals and a great pedicure. If the dress is a dark green, white would definatly not work, in my opinion of course.

  9. I was thinking of getting a job for the holidays myself. One of those mega shoe stores just opened near my home and I was planning on looking into it- especially if they offer a nice employee discount. I never thought about the perque of simply observing the wonderful styles of footwear out there as well. Think I will look for an application! As far as a camcorder, there are some very tiny ones out that you could just set on the floor near you, but you wouldn't want to get fired...

  10. For the past couple of weeks, I have been weeding down my collection of heels. Usually, I just donate them to a thrift store when I "clean house," but this time I decided to see if they would sell on E-bay. Well, I posted 45 pair and sold 44 of them. I plan on selling another 20 or so after the holiday. Here is my observation...of the 44 pair I sold, 20 were bought by men. Of the 18 total customers, 7 were men. I thought this was an interesting observation, though it is far from scientific.

  11. Actually, I have found that sizes often depend on brands. This is true for clothing as well as shoes. It has also been my experience that higher end brands run a bit larger ha lover end brands. But that is just an obeservation not a guarentee. I know Steve Madden shoes run larger and even a bit wider in the same size than let's say a Bandolino. Ususally what I do is figure what size works best for me in each brand and just go with that as my indicator. Also, I try not to buy shoes online unless I have bought the exact same brand in person.

  12. This may sound strange, but one way that I have stretched shoes is to soak the in water (while wearing them) or shower with them on, then walk around (yes, its messy) for a bit. After they have dried, they should stretch a bit to fit your foot. This seems to work, but it will only work with leather shoes. Just a thought.

  13. I think it is an interesting look, but they still look like a platform to me. They just seem to be a natural variation on traditional platforms- the next step in evolution. I myself like plats and find them quite comfortable. My only concern is that they might make the wearer's feet look bigger.

  14. Dr. Shoe is right on. I have a very narrow heel and sometimes when the heels are high enough, I slide forward causing the toes to slip off the front. However, when this happens I "retire" those sandals because it simply is uncomfortable as well as distasteful. Also, the gap between the heel and the back of the shoe is unsightly. Again with narrow heels, if I do not choose the proper fit that gap will rub the worst blisters on my heel, which leads to band-aids, and so many other tacky things. Choosing the right fit is vital. This is why I do the opposite of what you are supposed to do when buying shoes. I do it early in the day before my feet have swollen. I they are a bit loose then I know when they swell after a few hours of walking, they will fit properly. Along these lines, I saw a very cute girl today wearing a pair of flat open-toe pumps. I have noticed her before in the same place and she often wear very stylish heels as well. She was setting with her legs crossed at the knees dangling a one shoe off her toes. I just thought she was being flirty or trying to be sexy or something. A couple of hours later I saw her walking across the parking lot and the shoes were so ill-fitting that the responded like flip-flops a she waked. My thought was 'what a shame poor fitting shoes ruined her casual, yet polished look.'

  15. The most I ever wear heels is for for or five hours a stretch. But that's not why I am responding however. I know many women keep extra shoes with them "just in case." However, I just wanted to omplement you on the appeal and tast of your "just in case" shoes. Those are stylish, sexy and comforable I am sure. There is o reason comfort and class cannot go hand in hand.

  16. you can either get them in 6" or 5" and patent or leather...so there is quite a variety. I think theyre really nice..I have it and it looks hot when u pair it with a nice wrap dress or a casual/sultry looking dress and ur makeup done....HOTTTTTTTT

Absolutly...a dress or skirt is a MUST for those. They would make a long(er) skirt look fantastic. However, the patent would be for a more "dressy" look.
