I'm intrigued as to what the job is. I'd assumed it was something to do with medicine. Have you already started it? Does that mean you're finished with college? The trick, I find, with shabby managers is to be all the more determined to do the job right. And really learn the meaning of the phrase 'water off a duck's back'.
