  1. I nearly always wear high heeled shoes but the other day I went hill walking in fairly flat boots. Later, in Cardiff, I saw another man wearing gold mary janes and skinny jeans. I felt silly and jealous for some reason. So the answer is always wear heels! Don't get caught like I did!

  2. Speak to a lawyer; they should give a free initial consultation.

Have you breached your employment contract by doing something to damge the reputation of the business?

Is there a clause about uniform?

Do you think it is right that an employer can insist on a convention?

Would a woman face the same pressure?

  3. Where do you want to shop? Heeledteen, I just had a look at your profile and notice you say you are fourteen years old. I would be a bit careful with your request. If you arranged to meet a stranger from this board, how would you ensure your safety? As a young person (I was one once!) you will have no trouble or problems choosing / buying and wearing heels in shops. Youth is an excuse for anything out-of- the-ordinary; indulge yourself!

  4. I don't like to clutter the place up with new threads; I had a look for an old one but it was locked. Anyway, I was having lunch on Christmas Eve at an Hotel in Queen Square Bath UK. I was seated at a table by the window and I saw a tall gentleman, outside, wearing some knee boots over skinny jeans. The boots were brown and I would guess had about a four inch spike heel. He looked very 'on-trend'. I saw a nice scarf too. It's so rare I would have wanted to say "Hi!" and "great look" etc but I was trapped in the resturant. I always wear high heeled shoes and boots and it was great to see another man with similar taste.

  5. I find leather always yields to the shape of my feet, but this can take quite a while. If the shoes need an initial stretch (in my case, I often have to wear a smaller size as my desired style may not be available in my size) I wear them in a bath of hot water for half an hour. I think a cordwainer wets the leather whilst shoe-making? Plastic shoes are toys, rather than footwear. I would love to shop for shoes in Brighton, where can I go? M

  6. I recently read an interesting comment from 'Kit' in the girls area. I have also found that any heel lift between about 2" to 4" is just a nuisance and only find comfort starting at 4" and going up to 6" or so; without any platform, of course. I wonder if this is a common problem? I am happier with flat shoes (if they have arch support) but this must be in short bursts of up to about an hour before I start to get very uncomfortable. Is this due to my life in very high heels?

  7. Nearly all shoes have heels of some sort, it's the way the foot works. Without footware we would still walk on our toes to some extent depending on the variation in our foot shape. Are we saying that flat shoes are like no shoes, because there is no support? I have become accustomed to very high heels and this exaggerates the discomfort of having no support. The only thing that dictates the height of my heels is the terrain that I have to traverse. My preference would be for a very well fitting shoe with a strong heel of around 6.5 inches, with the half inch also in sole thickness. Anything less than this causes increasing discomfort in many different places. I would also add that I have tried heels of about 3 inches high and found them a nuicance or incumberance. I felt silly in them but more comfortable than flats.

  8. This is generally true for me. It makes a huge difference if the whole look is coordinated; in fact a 'guy in heels' is not the perception more a 'stylish guy and oooooh he's in heels too'. Then it all starts. The questions and the grins from them, and me too. The younger women say things like " I would defo wear those" or "Do they make those in guy's size?" Uncultured and narrow minded women tend to react in the same way as young men in groups ...they think it's a joke...that's all...a harmless joke but I don't generally move in such circles so I'm not a fair test. M

  9. Hi I think everyone feels slightly vulnerable when using a public loo. Very few people will be that interested in what you are wearing, even if it was a full size polar bear costume, they will just get on with their own lives. If anyone, say in a group of friends, wants to show off and victimise a complete stranger this could occur at anytime and for any reason, anyway; so get on with your own life and don't worry !

  10. Everything said can apply to a man; and does apply to many men. Few men have indulged there senses in this way and of those few, less still would admit to it, but times are changing slowly. Slow is best...slow is strong...another quick fad like the early 70s is not what is required. M
