  1. Take a look at this picture:

    http://users.powernet.co.uk/wingett/images/talons.jpg

It illustrates that when the heels get higher, the ankle joint is "absorbing" part of the extra height of the heel, so that the increase in your body height will be less than the height of the heel.

I also must have somewhere a short article that describes this in more mathematical terms - I will try to find it back. It is an English translation from part of the former Italian website "Tacchi a Spillo".

  2. (...) I would think they something like this (but i am not sure):

That Brittany style that you are referring to, is style K501 from Leatherworks of London:

    http://www.leatherworks.org.uk/acatalog/k501.jpg

available with a 4½ inch and a 5½ inch heel.

The ones in the YouTube clip look more like style K501-LP (for "Long Point", also from Leatherworks).

  3. well, I've just ordered a pair of sandals for summer (...) . they are called "GLADE" black of ofcourse) by MERRILL. if someone in here could tell me how to get a pic of them on here I would love it, since I do have a clue how post pics on this board, thanks guys!

If I am not mistaken, this is what you mean:

  4. Hi,

Sorry no, but here's a link to the pair I bought: http://www.fantasyheels.co.uk/acatalog/4_inch_mary_jane_oxford_12.html

If anyone else can insert the pic that would be helpful.

At present I'm wearing a pair of plain black loafers, 3 inch heels, from here:

    http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/

Style code, TU045, £39.00, described as a 'high loafer', which occasionally describes me too....., and found under, oddly, the 'school' catagory. Again if one of you clever computer folk can insert a pic, that would be terrific.

Sorry, I fail being able to produce that picture.

  5. I support the work of the Valley Trauma Centre but I don't think it's particularly approriate for guys who want to wear heels to hijack or even cheapen their activities when a main reason for participating is their own wish to have an excuse to wear women's shoes in public. If you support the ideals of the Valley Trauma, then why not email pattidengler@valleytraumacenter.org and ask how you can donate some cash. I reckon that's a more effective way of contributing.

The above is a quote from Firefox a few years ago, when this walk and its purpose were first discussed on (the predecessor of) this board in late 2003.

    See:

Let's try to keep these thoughts in our minds.
