loswabs
I usually take a UK 7 or 8 in stilettos, depending upon the make. However I've found that in high heel strappy sandals I'm a 6. I've even got one pair of stiletto mules in a 5 which fit fine and I can walk in them no problem. Well, allowing for the fact 4" mules aren't the easiest things to walk in at the best of times, are they? I've also noticed that after a few hours wear, when I take them off there are deep impressions where the straps have been. Is this phenomenom unique to me or do others have a similar sizing situation?? It's my opinion, no more, no less
Heel_Boy
Like most clothing sizing vares from lable to lable and clearly the style of the shoe effects the fitting. Plus some shoes that are tight at first can losen up over time and become very comfortable intime. I have a pair of pointed toe courts that when I bought where very tight around the front but over time they seem to break in and are very comfortable. Im sure any strappy sandles will leave some strap marks if they have been on for a while but if they are really digging in then maybe the next size up might be worth looking into
Horche
I have a pair of 4" wedge mules, that I consider to be the most comfortable pair I own. They have two pairs of straps crossing each other at the front and that's all that holds the foot to the shoe. So I believe it's justified to be a tiny little bit tight and to leave an impression on the foot, when the rest of the shoe fits fine in length and width... I must get some pictures sometime... Bubba136
Im sure any strappy sandles will leave some strap marks if they have been on for a while but if they are really digging in then maybe the next size up might be worth looking into when wearing strappy sandals, your foot slides forward into the toe. Thin straps across the instep do cut into the foot and leave strap marks when you take them off. Even if you fasten the ankle strap tightly around your ankle, to try to keep your feet from moving forward, your feet will slide, anyway. I have two pair of strappy sandals that I've almost worn out. Both pair have 5" stiletto heels and straps that fasten around the ankle and I can't stop my feet from sliding forward when walking long any distance. I just live with it. And, wear boots and pumps more than sandals. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Guest
well, that happens to me whenever I wear my "gladiator" type sandals (flat though for comforts sake for me to walk down hills where I live) I do have somewhat poor curculation but nothing that bothers me all that much, wearting boots is no problem either. thedesigner
I'm the same - I take uk 6 or 7. I dont like mules personally, but i do strappy sandals. My secret is never to buy synthetic sandals - the straps dont give at all, leather does. However cotton does - too much - and my thin feet slide forwards, and i hate toes hanging over the front of sandals.... Isnt it nice loswabs to be able to choose any heels and not to have to go to specialist shops !!
loswabs
... but if they are really digging in then maybe the next size up might be worth looking into Thanx to everyone for replying so far. Heel_Boy, I've tried larger sizes but they're just too big and my feet move around in them too much. The sensation of the tight straps is actually quite nice and re-assuring, not painful in a bad way. It's something I'm more than happy to live with It's my opinion, no more, no less
