sscotty727 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Sorry to post a medical question here, but didn't know if any of you had experience first hand or by knowing someone or by being in the field. I've been having pretty bad ear and jaw pain the past few weeks. I first thought it was an infection, so went to the dr and they gave me antibiotics. Finished that and still had the pain (it actually got worse). So went back in and she said she couldn't find any infection or inflamations. So she ordered a CAT scan. Well, got that Monday morning. They just called and said I have 2 cysts on my sinuses (but they are small) that are causing the pain. I tried to look it up online (google) but I keep finding answers to large cysts that need to be removed by operation. Not being one that necessarily enjoys an operations, just wondered, anyone know anything about these or maybe you had them? Do they always require surgery? Is there a way they can "remove" them by medicine or maybe in office procedure (needle?). I have an appointment on Monday, so I guess I will find out then, but was just curious about what to expect. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scotty

Eh, no biggie if you deleted it. Not worrying, just have no clue as to what all is involved, if surgery is the only treatment method or if anyone here experienced it. I will refrain from posting non-shoe related questions onlne in the furture, sorry.

They'll probably try draining them with a syringe, but depending on their specific location in respect to a more important organ - the BRAIN. Let the doctor determine the best course of treatment. Trust me - I got my blood test back a couple of weeks ago and it showed very elevated liver readings. I looked it up on the Internet and expected teh doc to schedule me for a liver transplant. When I saw him on Tuesday he told me that it has to do with my weight and is just excess lipid (fat) deposits in the liver. Nothing to worry about for now. Good luck with the next office visit and post the results!! Jeff. Men's 13W : Women's 15/16
sscotty727 Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 Good luck with the next office visit and post the results!! Jeff. Thanks. Also, please let me know about the liver situation as well. I am also taking lipitor (for about 6 years now) and am also overweight. It's been over a year since I got my blood checked, yet another thing I need to get done. Scotty
