Shafted Posted January 23, 2006 Share Posted January 23, 2006 I think that people need to accept the fact that the stuff you see on the runway is strictly for asthetics and is absolutely nuts to surgically alter ones feet when there is great high heeled footwear out there to fit anybody. There is always the option of custom made shoes as well. These certainly have to be less expensive than surgery. Shafted, the boots that is! Dr. Shoe Posted January 23, 2006 Share Posted January 23, 2006 Girls should apply the "7" rule. Subtract the heel height from 7 inches and that's the longest you will be able to stand. So in 6 inchers you'll be able to stand for an hour but in flats you can stand for 7 hours.... You probably won't be able to stand in 8 inch ballet boots at all and will have to sit down an hour before you get up! Certainly the idea of having an operation in order to wear a particular shoe is madness to me. I think the problem is not the shoes themselves, it's people squeezing into pairs that don't fit. Chris I share your point of view (of course besides extreme cases, like i.e. a terribly burnt face or a very ugly nose). I'd rather perform an operation on a shoe .
