stellah Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 A week ago I was in an Italian smalltown. I had the chance to take photos of some shoeshops... I share them with you here... But unfortunately I saw very seldom any interesting footwear in the streets - the Italian women tend to be also comfy and wear flats... _______________ HH forever!
DeSalto Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Very nice shoes! Italians were always great shoemakes. Did you buy anything? DeSalto No shoe is better than a sexy pair of stilettos!
Dr. Shoe Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Yeah, most are designed by Brits and made in China! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Guest Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Some great window displays. The italians make some great shoes but I think they only seem to wear heels for a special occasion and not everyday wear.
Shafted Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Window shopping in Italy is indeed fun. When I was in Rome high heels were everywhere. I was in heaven. In Naples and Pompeii however I hardly saw anything with a heel. It really depends on where in Italy you go. It's much the same here in the US. The best heels wearers are in the more metropolotin areas. Shafted, the boots that is! Rob Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 We were in Florance a few weeks ago and saw plenty of ladies wearing heels. As Shafted says, I think, as in most counties, you see more heels in the big cities. We came back with some great shoes as well. Italy is certainly much cheaper than the UK for quality heels.
stellah Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Very nice shoes! Italians were always great shoemakes. Did you buy anything? DeSalto Nope, not this time. They were all designer shoes and thus too expensive for me. _______________ HH forever!

It looks like it has some interesting shops, and maybe we could take a trip to the same place! The small town I visited is called Viareggio. It is in Tuscany county, Massa region - just south of Milan. But I have heard that big cities - like Rome - have much better choices and variety of nice heels... _______________ HH forever!
Shafted Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I myself will be going back to Italy in April. My stops will be in Rome (once again), Assisi, Florence, Pisa and Sienna. I plan on looking for more heels as I go. Shafted, the boots that is!
