sendra45 Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Hi If you are going to post a new topic, please have the courticy to look in from time to time and reply to your 'new topic' If you dont care that much about the subject....... dont post a topic! At least thank members for replying. In the interests of the forum, Nigel The angels have the phonebox.
Shafted Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I may be guilty of this on one occasion that I know of. I intend to respond, but choose to let others respond to the question posed. The off topic stuff I get as a result of a question really amazes me. I really had no idea how badly we all easily go off topic. Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 In the interest of Forum protocol, you have a good suggestion Nigel. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Bubba136 Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't think starting a new thread and not replying is a big deal. Perhaps it's an issue or idea that the original poster is looking for input about. But, I don't know when was the last time I started a new thread, anywy. sendra45 Posted July 30, 2005 Author Posted July 30, 2005 Yes, I was just after a bit of politeness really. We would not like it if we were ignored in the street, so why here. There really is a good bunch of members here and this suggestion would go hand in hand with us welcoming folk to the forum and encouraging others with their interest in heels. As for going off of topic, actually I dont mind that, after all, that is how conversation happens in the real world, so why not here in cyberspace? We learn more about others when we go off of topic. Nigel. The angels have the phonebox.
Bubba136 Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 nigel, I know my replies are frequently off topic but I don't think, in this case, my reply is off subject. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Shafted Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Don't worry Bubba. I can see though how a person who starts a thread in order to get some info loses interest in the thread because it goes off topic quickly, at which point it becomes useless for it's original intent. taliheels Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 starting a thread and not replying(yes me nigel) is not unique to this forum, unfortunately it goes on in 99.9% of forums in my experience, as for being ignored that happens all the time in real life- waiting at reception or a till counter, staff to busy chatting to themselves " hello! have i just become the invisible ma?, some service would be appreciated PLEASE"
sendra45 Posted August 2, 2005 Author Posted August 2, 2005 Hi Taliheels Dont protest too much, this was not aimed at you, sorry if I have hit a nerve, but quite often on this site there are topics repeated and left open without any closure from its author. Sometime ago somebody posted a thread that upset a great deal of members, the poster never replied nor added his thoughts, these things are important if we are to get anything out of the site, taliheels, I actually welcome your input of late, you have a lot of enthusiasm for your heels, you are just up the road from me (1 hour) so I would not want to upset you and are an active member of the board, great for all of us. So, whilst you might get ignored in the local store, dont feel ignored here, surely we are better and more polite than that. slightly off topic, but is that carpet for real? Shafted Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Yea, I think I remember that thread nigel. I don't think it was the original posters intent to upset everybody, but after it happened he was probably afraid to repost for fear of getting flamed. Shafted, the boots that is! taliheels Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 nigel, thanks i wasn't "protesting" at your reply but it can be difficult to get a view across by means of a keyboard, and no you didnt upset me at all the "ignored " posts happen too often over the net and one can fall into the trap of following that route- its a bit like driving and when rude people fail to let me out of junctions and when it happens a tad to often - i think sod it , im not giving anyone way either and hence a vicous circle i appreciate that you have noted my enthusiasm for heels oh the carpet, yes i think that and not the apparent nudity is what caused any percieved offence- its taking the limelight from my legs and heels- annoying for a high heeled narcassist like me!
sendra45 Posted August 3, 2005 Author Posted August 3, 2005 perhaps get a photo with a better background, something light that will show the heels. The angels have the phonebox.
taliheels Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 i don't know -it's got sentimental value..... ive had some high heeled fun on that carpet....
