Heelfan
What it really boils down to is the difference between cross-dressers, Transvestites etc. and homosexuals. Although the following fact surprised me greatly to start with, it is firmly established that very, very few cross-dressers and transvestites are homosexual. Bearing in mind that many of us street-heeling guys regard ourselves as "Transvestives from the knees downwards", it follows that the vast majority of us are straight, heterosexual guys, with wives, girlfriends and female partners. Having attended virtually every UK Heel-Meet for the last sixteen months and one Euro Heel-Meet, I have got to know Firefox and well over twenty other members, and my point appears to be born out. Any newcomers to our Heel-Meets will find that, given our unusual taste in footwear, we are a remarkably straight, interesting and intelligent set of guys. Some wives and girlfriends come along too, and I am sure they would agree with my assessment. Cheerfully yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards! Heelfan
Whenever advertising our Heel-Meets (see "Real Life Meetings" Forum), we always say "Heels not compulsory". At the last two or three meetings we had one or two guys in flats or trainers. Also, even if you do come in heels, it doesn't always have to be teetering up in 5" stillettos (even though that's what I'll be doing!). Some of the guys come in lowish block or wedge heels, especially as its a whole day of shopping. socialising etc. The main thing is just to turn up! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards! genebujold
Gene: my comment was ment to be along the lines of JeffB's "Yes! I'm happy to be alive and well!" Sorry for any confusion Jim No worries - I really need to take my own advice and take less offense! Well said, both Firefox and Heelfan!
Firefox
So, if shaving your legs is "girly" why is shaving your face or neck not girly as well? Basically your sis hasn't got a logical platform to stand on, whynotheels. She could choose to blindly follow majority behaviour or think round it for herself. It's her choice I suppose. However, you've got to choose your openings carefully because some people are just so darn hard headed, closed minded and set in their ways that no matter what you say they're still going to think there's something wrong with you and respond accordingly! Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
genebujold
Agreed. While not particularly hairy myself, the reason both men and women remove unwanted hair has to do with how they perceive themselves and the way they want to look. Who cares if it's a bikini wax, a shave, or even electrolysis? If you have hair you'd rather not display on your body, then get rid of it! Although we certainly don't want to mess with the body's hormones, I personally wish there were something we could take that would prevent hair cells from reacting to the body's hormones. Few men today like wearing a beard, and most would just as soon not have grown thick facial hair to begin with. As for leg-shaving, if you're wearing something that looks better with smooth legs, then go for it!
avril
Hello again; I agree with a lot that has been said on this subject. It seems to me that ones sexuality ie: straight/gay/whatever is invisible. It is in ones psyche and has nothing to do with the external appearance of the person. I have to admit that I was teasing slightly about shaving from the knees down. I shave all over every few days which is quite high maintenance! But no-one who doesn't know of my 'little hobby' has seemed to have noticed. Not the plucked eyebrows, hairless arms etc. I really think that most people are so wrapped-up in their own concerns that they don't notice these details. Even if they do, they don't seem to care. When shopping in women's clothes shops I've never had a problem, and when I had to strip off at the doctor's recently the nurse didn't see the manly, hairy torso she expected. 'You don't have any body hair. Do you shave it off? Why do men do that these days?' My reply was 'It doesn't look nice with a dress.' She went on with some chat and wasn't at all perturbed. Problem? What problem? I don't hurt anyone, myself included. I just do what I feel. Oh, yes, and have fun too! For those who are not trannies I'd just like to add that so many times when I've been 'read' the blokes have said ' you've got more guts than me, mate' or something similar. Now, what are they really trying to say? Heigh ho, Avril xx
