I've been everywhere in Scotland in heels. The best places are Edingburgh and the lowlands. Edingburgh is a cultural go ahead type city and the people in the lowlands are very polite and friendly and used to trendy English people zipping across the border. It's OK in the highlands. It's not as though you are going to get arrested, but some of the people are a bit "religious" or set in their ways. It's like they are living in a time warp so they may turn up their nose slighyly at some adventurous idea. I've been to Glasgow too, and never had any trouble with any "neds".

I haven't been to Scotland as of yet, but wearing the boots pictured under long pants shouldn't be a problem anywhere. Cheers--- Dawn HH
