Dear trickrider1,

Welcome to High Heel Place. Please do take the time to introduce yourself here before doing anything else..

Feel free to browse around and get to know others. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Do take some time to read our website rules / guidance notes and if you get stuck, our FAQ's are also updated frequently..

As a member who has JUST registered, you will only be able to see 3 of our forums, so might be wondering where the rest of the forums have gone?

Well, until you drop in here and introduce yourself, by way of replying to this thread/topic, the rest of what HHPlace has to offer remains hidden...

This is deliberate, and is designed to give total newbies the chance to read the important things, and a chance to post an intro for others to get to know you a little better.

As soon as you have introduced yourself here, that will be your 1st post, and you should instantly be able to see the rest of the forums...

Its our way of really wanting to welcome you gradually, to be sure you dont miss the rules and help available, and encourage you to take part.

So on behalf of the team, and all of our existing members who will hopefully also welcome you...

Welcome to High Heel Place :-)

Hey everyone, really glad to participate here. I'll briefly introduce myself. I'm a 49 year old guy with a life long interest in good looking shoes and it so happens that some of those shoes have substantial heels under them. Anyway, my page name does indeed reflect one of my passions which is performing as a stunt rider a.k.a. trick rider on horses. It is a sideline hobby that contributes to my income so I consider it "light" professional. By day I'm an engineer which is certainly a group of people not usually known for any fashion interests, but then again most engineers are pretty risk averse and would never consider hanging sideways off a running horse. Other interests include aviation, being a commercial pilot and flight instructor, and a musician, playing keyboard instruments (piano, organ, synth, etc.) since I was young. So I'll admit that's a lot of very contrasting interests and I'll admit I've never met anyone else with such a strange combination of pursuits. Then there are the shoes and boots. Being of the "horsey" type, I primarily wear cowboy boots, but a guy can get away with pushing 4" heels with those and not hardly get a sideways glance, or sometimes its a very positive sideways glance from a cowgirl or open minded woman. Although cowboy boots are my mainstay, I also really like clogs or any wooden soled footwear including tall sandals which are just a "around the house" thing. I will say though, I love the look of very seriously high platforms, stillettos, etc. and own a couple pairs mostly just for evenings around the house. I'm married with two small children. My wife realized my shoe interest shortly after we started dating many years ago. She has certainly benefited from this being the recipient of footwear gifts on many occasions.
