RonC
These have been around for a while. The sad part is, the patent heels she has on toward the end are not a pair of the convertible shoes. Those are a different pair of pantent pumps with a normal heels. Pretty bad when they don;t even use the real product in the advertising!
onhertoes
It seems like a great idea. But the way they just pop on seems like a problem. Poor design from what I can see.
Bundy999
i'm not a shoe designer, but i would expect some changes to the soles and body of the shoe are required, not just changing the heel height.
Dr. Shoe
Indeed. You cannot change a heel height without altering the pitch of the shoe. For example, you have a high heel and if you cut an inch off the heels they will kick under and they will bend as you walk. It's simple geometry. If you have a triangle (which is what the shape of a HH shoe is) and you shorten one of the sides then the opposite angle will be reduced unless you also shorten the other two sides. Now, if one side has to be at the same angle (the side that is the ground line) then the other side (the sole of the foot) is still the same length but will be longer when measured horizontally. Ergo, the top of the heelwill be further back than where it was but the bottom will be in the same place so therefore the heel will now be at an angle where it was perfectly perpendicular to the ground. Adding height to a heel will have the opposite and just as dangerous effect. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
