Anne_Louise Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Paul, thank you - you are kind. Don't encourage me too much - I can easily stray over the borderline to boring, whatever you say!
Trolldeg Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 I don't think anyone on this forum can get bored when it comes to high heels..
Anne_Louise Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Trolldeg, of course, I'm with fellow enthusiasts here! I could talk for England about shoes, and even some of my non-heel-wearing friends enjoy talking about my shoes. I do sometimes have a tendency though to launch off into other topics - be warned! Anne Louise
JeffM Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Hi Anne Louise Being bored according to my dictionary means being in a state of tedium. This means you might be able to bore us but you can not say we are bored because that is for us to say. So I would suggest that you write and we will read what you have to say. I am sure you will find out very soon that we are not bored but instead on the edge of our seats with enthusiasm and interest. But of course you'll never, never know if you never, never give it a go, will you. Jeff
Anne_Louise Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Thank you Jeff for that gentle rebuke! As far keeping on writing is concerned, don't encourage me - these forums are far too compulsive! I should really be outside enjoying this lovely English spring weather. So that's what 'bore' means - although my dictionaries say 'to weary by tedious talk or dullness'. And you thought you were the only pedant here! Anne Louise
Anne_Louise Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Though I do take your point, that I am not in a position to judge if the readers are being bored - I just make that (perhaps unjustified) assumption Anne Louise
JeffM Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 And like I said, if you try it you will soon see how many hits you get even if you dont get many comments made. Best wishes Jeff
Anne_Louise Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 JeffM, it's nice to know that people are reading all of the postings, but it's the follow-up comments that are really interesting - whether they support or disagree. It's all part of life's great learning process.
